28-year old guard Allan Ray (188-G-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Ratiopharm and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Ratiopharm in his team's victory, helping them to crush Cholet with 22-point margin 93-71. It allowed Ratiopharm to take over top position in the Eurocup group G. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Ratiopharm won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Ray had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Ratiopharm's top player in his first season with the team. Villanova University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ray is in league's top in points (5th best: 25.0ppg) and averages solid 83.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Matt Lojeski (198-G-85) of Oostende. He is American guard in his 4th season at Oostende. In the last game Lojeski recorded impressive 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Oostende to a comfortable win 84-65 over Panionios (0-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Lojeski is one of the most experienced players at Oostende and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 5.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Lamont Hamilton (208-C/F-84) of Gescrap BB. Hamilton scored 20 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Gescrap BB, leading his team to a 85-78overtime win against Buducnost in a game of the week. Gescrap BB has a very good start of the season. The season just started for Hamilton as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Darryl Watkins (211-C-84) of Lukoil Academik - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dwayne Anderson (198-F-86) of s.Oliver Baskets - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Wesley Wilkinson (207-PF-84) of Oostende - 19 points and 7 rebounds
7. Mike Scott (203-F-86) of Crvena Zvezda - 22 points and 7 rebounds
8. Pau Ribas (193-PG-87) of Valencia - 23 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
9. John Bryant (208-C-87) of Ratiopharm - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Boris Savovic (210-F-87) of Crvena Zvezda - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
