One player not making the trip to Spain ahead of tomorrow night's Eurocup Top 16 clash with Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket (Spain) is Michael Taylor (188-G-86, college: Iowa St.). CEZ Basketball Nymburk parted ways with the 26-year old guard prior to the trip and signed in his stead Nigerian-American shooting guard Michael Efevberha. Taylor, 6-2, joined the club this off-season and appeared in Euroleague qualifications (2 games), Eurocup (6 games), VTB United League (10 games) and domestic NBL (19 games) competitions. According to Nymburk coach Ronen Ginzburg (agency: Avi Zilberman ) "Taylor's performances were not consistent enough for the team's needs He had big swings in quality of performances, one excellent the next bad. Invariably it was unreliable."
Taylor's best performances came in Mattoni NBL contests where he averaged 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals while connecting on 50.0% of his two-point field goals while making 43.5% of his three-point shots. Contrarily in six Eurocup games he managed just 7.7 points per game while making only 3 of 19 three-point field goals. Taylor, who is the first ever player drafted from the NBA D-League into the NBA (2008 #55 pick of Portland Trail Blazers) is in his sixth professional season having played previously in the NBA D-League, NBA (49 games in 2008-09), Serbia, Italy and Greece.

This marks the fourth import player to leave Nymburk this season, joining Christos Tapoutos (203-F-82), Aubrey Colemand and A.J. Abrams.

According to spokesperson Ondrej Simecek, if Efevberha does not pass his initial try-out period the team will continue the rest of the season with the current 12-man roster and not bring in another import.
