MBK Ruzomb. - Nantes 51-56
Nantes Reze made a strong bid for EuroCup semifinal appearance. The French team outgunned MBK Ruzomberok on the road tonight in the first leg of the quarterfinal series. Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83) came up with 16 points to pace the winning team. Nantes Reze trailed by the most part of the first quarter before Mircheva drained a three-pointer to give the visitors a 14:13 lead at the first break. Nantes Reze maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. The visitors enjoyed a 32:28 halftime advantage. MBK Ruzomberok used a 6:0 run late in the third quarter to spur ahead for a 40:38 lead. However Isis Arrondo (166-PG-89) capped the period with a three-pointer to make it 43:42 in favour of Nantes. Yuliya Andreyeva and Isis Arrondo opened the fourth frame with back-to-back triples. But MBK Ruzomberok stayed hopeful cutting the deficit at 2-point mark 49:51. Isis Arrondo and Yuliya Andreyeva stepped up with five consecutive points and this time Nantes ran away for good. Isis Arrondo finished with 14 points, while Marielle Amant had 8 points for the winning team. Nadia Parker (191-C-87, college: USC) responded with 13 points for MBK Ruzomberok. Katarina Tetemondova nailed 10 points for the hosts.

Dynamo M. - Lattes Montp. 73-51
Dynamo Moscow are on the verge of reaching EuroCup semifinal stage following a comfortable home win over Lattes Montpellier. Kristi Toliver (170-PG-87, college: Maryland) dropped 18 points and issued 6 assists to lead Dynamo to a 22-point success at home court tonight. Dynamo led by just a single point after ten minutes of action 13:12. Robert put Montpellier in front 14:13 at the start of the second term. However Dynamo used a 13:0 run midway through the period to gain a 32:16 lead. Dynamo established a 35:20 halftime advantage. The margin grew at 18-point mark in the third term. Montpellier were able to cut the deficit at 14-point mark but Grishaeva, Kristi Toliver and Abrosimova sealed a confident 22-point victory for the home side. Crystal Langhorne (188-F/C-86, college: Maryland) finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Tatiana Vidmer chipped in 13 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in the victory. Gaelle Skrela (178-G-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) and Fatimatou Sacko (177-F-85) had 10 points apiece in the loss.

Kayseri - Dynamo K. 101-86
Kayseri celebrated a home win over Dynamo Kursk in the first leg of the EuroCup quarterfinal series. Zoi Dimitrakou (188-F-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) came up with 23 points to pace the Turkish team to a comfortable home win that gave them a safe cushion before the game in Kursk. The teams stayed close throughout the opening frame. The scoreboard read 23:23 after ten minutes of action. Dynamo Kursk pulled ahead in the second stanza. The Russian team fired 29 points in the period to establish a 52:45 halftime advantage. Kayseri however responded with their offensive excellence in the third term. The Turkish team dropped 31 points in the stanza and turned the deficit into a 2-point lead at the final break. Kayseri opened the fourth quarter on an 8:0 run to open a double-digit lead. Kayseri gradually extended the margin and secured what could be decisive 15-point lead heading into the second game. LaToya Sanders (191-PF-86, college: N.Carolina) finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Evanthia Maltsi added 21 points for the hosts. Michelle Snow (196-C-80, agency: LBM Management, college: Tennessee) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds for Dynamo. Epiphanny Prince chipped in 17 points in the loss.

Chevakata - Union Hainaut 79-51
Chevakata made a big step towards EuroCup semifinal stage. They knocked down Union Hainaut in Vologda tonight to ensure a comfortable 28-point cushion heading into the return leg game in France. Katerina Snytsina (188-F-85) stepped up with 19 points to pace the winners. Chevakata led by just two points after ten minutes of action 21:19. They stepped on the gas in the second frame. The hosts stiffened defensively and limited the visitors to just 14 points in the second quarter. The margin grew at 10-point mark at halftime 43:33. Chevakata continued to stretch their lead in the third term. The hosts piled up a comfortable 21-point buffer heading into the fourth quarter. Union Hainaut managed just 8 points in the final period and had to yield at the end. Glory Johnson (190-F-90, college: Tennessee) finished with 17 points and 15 boards, while Anastasia Logunova chipped in 12 points for the winners. Petra Stampalija (189-C-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 21 points for the French team. Laura Garcia delivered 15 points in the loss.

Vologda-Chevakata (PBL) signed 29-year old Serbian international point guard Tamara Radocaj (170-87, agency: Interperformances). She has played for the last two seasons at UNI Gyor in Hungarian A Division. In 26 games she had 13.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.9apg and 1.3spg last season. Radocaj helped them to make it to the final and Cup semifinals. A very impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (LMKL) re-signed experienced 35-year old small forward Kornelija Balciunaite (177-81). She has played there for the last two seasons. In 33 LMKL games she recorded 6.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.4apg and 3.9spg last season. Balciunaite helped them to win the LMKL title. Great season indeed as she was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LMKL Defensive Player of the Year and voted to Honorable Mention. Tori Jarosz (ex Gigantes) signs at H-Sirenos - 16 days ago

Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (LMKL) landed 24-year old American forward Tori Jarosz (190-92, college: Marist, agency: Gamble Sports Management). She played in the summer at Gigantes in Puerto Rican BSNF. In 5 games she averaged 7.6ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.0apg and 1.4bpg. Jarosz just graduated from Marist College and it will be her first season in pro basketball.
