Schio won Eurocup playing a great retour-match in Moscow, after the
confortable 20-points cushion earned at home in the first leg.
The Italian squad had an impressive
Bethany Donaphin (190-C-80) and
Laura Macchi since the first quarter (18-25), while on the
Russian side
Plenette Pierson and Elena Danilochkina tried to cut the gap.
Schio took the control of the rhythm and preserved the advantage
both at halftime (33-39) and at the end of third quarter (49-56),
even though Monique Currie's hand was red hot. Elisabetta Moro
netted in some crucial buckets for Schio, helped by Kathrin Ress and
Raffaella Masciadri (185-F-80), and Schio never trailed all
night long, untill the final triumph.
By winning Eurocup, Schio assured a place in next Euroleague.
