It allowed CSKA to keep the perfect score in Group E (3-0). Krstic turned to be CSKA's top player in his first season with the team. Nenad Krstic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 6.8rpg) and averages impressive 61.7% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Slovenian Erazem Lorbek (209-F/C-84) of FCB Regal. Lorbek had a very good evening with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he lead FCB Regal to another comfortable win 94-80 over Zalgiris (0-3) being unquestionably team leader. A very good start of the Top 16 for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Lorbek is one of the most experienced players at FCB Regal and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Richard Hendrix (203-F/C-86) of Maccabi T-A (#3). Hendrix scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Hendrix's great performance Maccabi T-A lost 74-82 to #2 ranked Bennet Cantu. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Maccabi has 1-2 record now. Hendrix has a very solid season. In 13 games in Euroleague he scored 8.0ppg. He also has 4.7rpg, 1.2bpg and FGP: 58.0%.

The Reds celebrated 83-65 and joined Efes with 1-2 record in Group E. Vassilis Spanoulis (193-G-82, agency: Beo Basket) top-scored for the home squad with 18 points. Konstantinos Sloukas (197-G-90) had 15 points and Joey Dorsey (206-C/F-83, college: Memphis) helped with 10 points, plus 5 rebounds. For the guests, Tarence Kinsey (200-G-84, college: S.Carolina) shined with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Sasha Vujacic (200-G-84) scored 12, while Esteban Batista (208-F/C-83, agency: Duran International) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Olympiakos made 20-12 lead in the first ten minutes of play and Efes cut the margin to 41-36 until the halftime. Sergio Rodriguez (191-G-86) stepped up for the winners with 20 points. Ante Tomic (217-C-87) had 15 points and 7 rebounds, Mirza Begic (217-C-85) followed with 12 points and 5 rebs for 13 minutes on the court, while Jaycee Carroll (188-PG-83, agency: Priority Sports) added 11 points. In defeat, Marko Banic (205-F-84) had 18 points and 6 boards. Their second scorer was Alex Mumbru (202-F-79) with 17 points, and Kostas Vasiliadis (200-G/F-84, agency: FCM) was behind him with 13 pts. Real Madrid made double-digit lead already in the first period and jumped to 50-32 in the finish of Q2, which later ended with plus 14 for Real. However, Bilbao didn't give up. They came to 55-48 after the breather, but Real responded with 14-7 after that. Unicaja - Montepaschi 68-91 Montepaschi did a great job in Malaga on Thursday night. The Italian champion handed 68-91 home loss to Unicaja for perfect 3-0 record in Group F of the Euroleague Top 16. Unicaja stays the only winless team in this pool. David Moss (196-F-83, agency: SportsTalent, college: Indiana St.) shined for the guests with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-C-79) scored 18 points and David Andersen (212-C-80) followed with 15 points, plus 6 boards. For the hosts, Joel Freeland (208-F-87) was better than the others with 14 points and 9 rebs. Tremmell Darden (194-G/F-81, college: Niagara) scored 13 and Luka Zoric (211-C/F-84) added 11 points and 7 rebs. Montepaschi opened the game strongly as they made 8-point lead in the first ten minutes. Visitors had plus 10 at the HT and plus 14 after 30 minutes of play. That was not all as Montepaschi dominated in Q4 with 11-20 for the final 68-91 road victory. Two teams will meet in Siena next week.

Fener.Ulker - Panathinaikos 56-77 Panathinaikos quickly recovered from the last week's shocking home loss against Unics and cruised past Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul 56-77. PAO grabbed 15-point lead already in the first quarter. They even touched plus 19 at the halfway of Q2, which later ended with 22-36. Nothing has changed after the breather as PAO was holding double digit lead all the time and actually jumped to plus 21 in the finish of this game. Kostas Kaimakoglou (206-C/F-83) led PAO with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Mike Batiste (203-F-77, college: Arizona St.) had 15 points and 5 boards, while Romain Sato (194-G/F-81, college: Xavier) collected 12 points and 10 reb. Sato didn't miss a single shot last night. For the hosts, Curtis Jerrells (185-G-87, college: Baylor) netted 12 points and Roko-Leni Ukic (196-G-84) had one less. It means that Unics stays No.1 in Group G with perfect 3-0 record. Visitors dropped to 0-3. Henry Domercant (192-G-80, college: E.Illinois) shined for the winners with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Petr Samoylenko (185-G-77) scored 12 and Terrell Lyday (190-G-79, college: BYU) followed with two points less. For Armani, Nicolo Melli (205-F-91) delivered 17 points and was the only one with double digits in scoring. Drew Nicholas (191-G-81, college: Maryland) was the second scorer in defeat with just 6 points and Antonis Fotsis (210-F-81) stopped to 5. Unics took control on Armani in the first quarter and never looked back after that. It was 20-12 for the host after ten minutes and 36-20 at the halftime. FCB Regal - Zalgiris 94-80 Regal Barca handed 94-80 loss to Zalgiris keeping the perfect score in Group H of the Euroleague Top 16. Barca jumped to 3-0, while at the same time Zalgirs faced with third straight loss. Visitors had pretty good first half of the game and they were holding 1-point lead, 42-43. However, Barca took control on them after the breather and with two strong periods registered double-digit victory at the end. Erazem Lorbek (209-F/C-84, college: Michigan St.) dominated in the paint with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Juan Carlos Navarro (192-G-80) scored 16 points and Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports) added 14 points, plus 6 assists. In Zalgiris, Sonny Weems (198-G/F-86, college: Arkansas) delivered 17 points. Robertas Javtokas (211-C-80, agency: Interperformances, college: Arizona) scored 13, while Paulius Jankunas (205-F-84, agency: Interperformances) and Milovan Rakovic (208-C-85) netted 12 points each.
