In a shocking turn of events, Eurobasket has been exclusively informed that star European point guard Jeremy Pargo, will not return to Europe this season and will not play for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Pargo, a 2011 Euroleague All-First Team member is now 'a free agent', and this, apparently, is the true reason as to why Maccabi's Head Coach David Blatt has been stalling with adding new guards to the team. The signings of Jordan Farmar, Jon Scheyer, Yogev Ohayon and Theodoros Papaloukas in addition to Israeli guard Tal Burstein will cause a dog battle over playing time to the extent where Pargo's minutes and stats would be damaged.

Eurobasket was also informed that Pargo has no flight scheduled from the United States to Tel Aviv this summer. According to Pargo's contract, he had to inform Maccabi by August 1st if he had an NBA offer. Once he did, his contract would be void. However, the back-to-back BSL champion is interested and willing to sign a new NBA out contract with Maccabi including a substantial decrease in pay from his original salary, estimated at just under $1 million per season.

Pargo has reason to believe that there is a firm NBA possibility out there for him, and he is willing to take the chance of sitting out during the lockout. As of now Pargo does not have to return to Israel and play for Maccabi and there is no reason for him to report to training camp September 1st.

If Pargo does re-sign a new NBA out contract with Maccabi when the lockout ends, the Israeli champions will suffer damage to both the locker room and the roster with the departure of Pargo and New Jersey Nets guard Jordan Farmar.

Pargo's agency Priority Sports decided not to comment on the situation.

The Slovenian guard sustained an injury in the Italian League game between his team and Caserta yesterday and today's examination revealed the full extent of the damage. Dragic's condition will be re-evaluated in the upcoming days to determine the most appropriate therapy for his recovery, as the club mentions. He'll most likely miss the remainder of the season since a surge...   [read more]

Belgrade ANGT Breakdown - 2 days ago
Source: www.doubledouble.rs/en/ Crvena Zvezda reached 7th consecutive title at Belgrade ANGT 2017 with easy win vs. Mega Bemax 74-61. Red shirted guys got their job done in 1st quarter with 28-8 scoring run. Basketball presented at Belgrade ANGT 2017 was not at some impressive level, despite my expectations before the tournament. Many teams here have shown only bit above average qualities, while Mega Bemax and Crvena Zvezda were far ahead of all the opponents. Top names breakdown Al...   [read more]
