After a rough transition from the luxurious NBA life to a trying period in Serbia, Acie Law's finally finding his rhythm in Athens and isnt thinking about basketball across the Atlantic.
Prior to signing with Partizan Belgrade in Serbia, Law was promised there would be another American on board. Not only did Law discover that promises are made to be broken, he also struggled with basic communication with his Serbian mates. As a result, Law relied on his earphones not only on road trips but also in the locker room.
'It's definitely been an adjustment from playing in the NBA, but it's a decision I'm glad I've made,' Law told Eurobasket.
Despite the difficulties, Law recalled that 'They (Serbians) treated my daughter like she's a Kardashian, so that eased things up a bit.'
Law, who played four NBA seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Bobcats and the Memphis Grizzlies, was used to ballin' at a high level, so when Partizan dropped out of the Euroleague competition, the former Texas A&M guard needed a change.
'I was looking to join a European team that qualified for the Euroleague Top 16, rather than taking any job in the league,' Law said. Luckily, at the time, Greek empire Olympiacos was looking to make some backcourt changes and Law was the perfect fit. Though Law is still in transition, his team is only one win away from securing a spot in Europe's Elite 8, as they head to Moscow to face Euroleague giant CSKA on February 22nd.
Surprisingly, when asked about a possible return to the NBA next season, Law weighed giving his Greek club first dibs. 'I would always want to play in the league if it's the right situation and I know I'm going to get minutes every night. Nothing can beat the NBA. On the other hand, if Olympiacos wants to bring me back next year and the contract terms are right, I would strongly consider.'
When asked why Law added, 'Because aside from basketball, I like Athens a lot.'

A good point guard, who is able to run the offense at any tempo and is very effective at the defnsive side. Can score in penetration, steals lots of balls, he's a very good rebounder for his size. He should improve his outside shooting, however, to become a top league material.
