Euroleague teams Targoviste from Romania and Schio from Italy, announced new player additions to their rosters, for the upcoming season.
*Firstly, according to media reports in Romania, EuroLeague Women newcomers Municipal Targoviste, strengthen their roster by adding local players Florina Pascalau, Gabriella Marginean and Ancuta Stoenescu for the coming season.
As it was reported before, among the others to join Targoviste are Latvia international Elina Babkina, who played for Fenerbahce last season. Targoviste will play in Group B with UNIQA Euroleasing Sopron, Famila Schio, Fenerbahce, Nadezhda, Good Angels Kosice and Arras.
*Elodie Godin (190-C-85) has been a thorn in the side of Famila Schio the past four years as a member of Cras Basket Taranto. Having helped Taranto capture the Italian title in 2011-12, the power forward has decided to join the Schio.
General Manager Paolo De Angelis says Godin, who is about to make her Olympic bow in London with France's national team, is an ideal fit for the team. "Our choice was dictated by tactical requirements expressed by the technical staff and respecting the perspective of cost containment in a period which, as everyone knows, is certainly not easy," he said.

29-year old guard Yvonne Turner (176-G-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for UNIQA Eurol. and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. She got a double-double of 33 points and 10 assists, while her team beat CCC Polkowice (#5, 0-1) 90-82. UNIQA Eurol. is placed at 4th position in their group in Euroleague group B. But it's just the very beginning of the season and UNIQA Eurol. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Turner turned to be UNIQA Eurol.'s top player in her first season with the team. University of Nebraska graduate has very impressive stats this year.
Second best performed player last round was Marija Rezan (198-C-89) of CCC Polkowice. She is Croatia center in her first season at CCC Polkowice. In the last game Rezan recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 23 rebounds. Bad luck as CCC Polkowice lost that game 82-90 to UNIQA Eurol. (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Rezan is a newcomer at CCC Polkowice and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to another UNIQA Eurol.'s star - center Sara Krnjic (191-C-91). Krnjic scored 24 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of UNIQA Eurol., helping her team with a 90-82 win against CCC Polkowice (#5, 0-1). UNIQA Eurol. has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Krnjic also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Krnjic as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Clarissa Dos Santos (184-C-88) of Bourges - 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Allie Quigley (178-G-86) of Fenerbahce - 35 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Jelena Milovanovic (190-PF-89) of Avenida - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Sonja Petrovic (189-F-89) of USK Praha - 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists 8. Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86) of Dynamo K. - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists 9. Courtney Paris (191-C-87) of Hatay - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists 10. Amanda Bazoukou (196-C-93) of Nadezhda O. - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
