Maccabi complete (?) it's backcourt with the addition of
David Logan (184-G-82, college: Indianapolis) . The American-Polish combo guard was flirting with the club the last couple of years but both sides never manage to cooperate. However, what does Logan brings to the table for Maccabi?
It's obvious that David Blatt will return to his favorite two-guard lineup by adding Logan next to Hickman. Maccabi has a big tradition on those lineups in the past, presented perimeter duos that strangled the opponent with their on-the ball pressure, resistance and physical strength. Remember Ariel Macdonald & Derrick Sharp or Doron Perkins & Jeremy Pargo (even Vonteego Cummings & Will Bynum).. Hickman has the prospect to become the newest ''version'' of Doron Perkins. His strong body reminds us an NFL quarterback and his defensive ability is in a high level. His perimeter partner, David Logan is a totally different player, with specific features and advantages that David Blatt can use perfectly. He is a prolific scorer who thrives on transition offense, very good finisher, a rhythm shooter and an excellent on the ball defender using his quick hands to steal balls. Logan has much better chances to shine in Maccabi's up tempo game , being part of an offense that seeks isolations. Last year he didn't manage to find a role at Obradovic's discipline half court offense and put his best performances in the rare occasions the Greens increase their offensive tempo. According to Israeli media, David Logan will receive the amount of 500K for the first year of his contract and 650K for the second.

He is quite experienced player. Perkins has played also professionally in Belgium (Bree), Germany (EWE Baskets), Japan (Toyota Alvark) and Israel (Maccabi Haifa). He attended Santa Clara University until 2005 and it is his eighth season as a professional player. The scouts decsribe him following way:
A good point guard, who is able to run the offense at any tempo and is very effective at the defnsive side. Can score in penetration, steals lots of balls, he's a very good rebounder for his size. He should improve his outside shooting, however, to become a top league material.
