Real Madrid lands rebounding ace Marcus Slaughter - Aug 21, 2012

Real Madrid signed a 2-year deal with Marcus Slaughter (204-C/F-85, college: San Diego St.). The player was one of the best Euroleague rebounders last season. Slaughter played for Brose Baskets Bamberg collecting 11.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.8 spg and 1.3 bpg for 10 Euroleague games. He was ranked sixth in performance index ranking (17.7 per game), third in rebounding, second in blocks and tied for third in steals in Euroleague regular season. The player averaged 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 44 German league games helping Bamberg to defend the title. He participated at the All-Star Game. Before Bamberg, Marcus Slaughter played for Valladolid. There he registered 9.9 ppg and 6 rpg in 34 ACB league games. In 2009/10, he played for Nancy and year before that the player spent with Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. He also has experience from Gravelines, Hapoel Jerusalem and Karsiyaka. Slaughter is a product of San Diego State University.
