Markota
Damir Markota (209-F-85) is a new member of Besiktas. The Croatian big guy signed a 1-year deal with reigning Turkish and EuroChallenge champions. Markota split last season between Union Olimpija and Zagreb. With Zagreb he shined with 17.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 1.6 apg for 13 Croatian league games. He was second rebounder and fourth scorer of the competition. The player also added 9 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 2.3 apg for 12 games in Adriatic league. With Union Olimpija, Damir Markota collected 4.7 ppg and 6 rpg for 7 Euroleague appearances. His numbers in Adriatic league increased to 11.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg for 9 games. In 2010/11, Markota also played for Union Olimpija. In the past, he was a member of Bilbao, Menorca, Zalgiris, Spartak St.Petersburg, Tulsa 66ers and Cibona. In 2006/07 season Damir Markota played 30 NBA games with Milwaukee Bucks. He had 1.7 ppg. Markota is active member of the Croatian National Team since 2002.

26-year old point guard Pierre Jackson (180-PG-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Maccabi T-A and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. He had the game-high 27 points adding seven rebounds and nine assists for Maccabi T-A in his team's victory, helping them to crush Brose Bask. (#14, 0-1) with 17-point margin 88-71. FC Barcelona - Panathinaikos 98-71 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Greek Panathinaikos (0-1) on the court of Spanish FC Barcelona.
