After reading Besiktas' president Abdullah Sozer's contemptible false comments in attempt to bash Pops Mensah-Bonsu's physical condition and reputation, John Greig, the Great Britain power forward's senior agent decided to fire back.

"There is no truth to the negligent comments made by Besiktas' president Abdullah Sozer," Greig told Eurobasket via phone conversation earlier today.

Earlier this summer, Mensah-Bonsu signed a two-year deal in Israel with Maccabi Tel-Aviv after turning down Sozer's flattering multi-year offer, estimated at 1.6M Euros per season.

The 6'9" human highlight who hasn't been home in nearly 11-months due to his Turkish season with Besiktas and Olympic Games with the United Kingdom, will attend his own wedding on September 10th and will report to Israel's Ben Gurion airport sometime between October 14-15. Recent rumors recently escalated around Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv, and were leaked to the media, stating Mensah-Bonsu underwent surgery and is highly questioned for Maccabi's season opener in October.

"Pops is signed to Maccabi Tel-Aviv and will not miss any of the team's games. He will play as healthy as he was last season when he won the Turkish League Championship, Turkish Cup, and the EuroChallenge title," Greig commented, shedding light on Mensah-Bonsu's situation.

When asked of the context of his recent conversations with Mensah-Bonsu and Maccabi executives, Greig said, "I frequently talk to Dani Federman (Tel Aviv owner) about Pops and they're (Maccabi) updated with every detailed information regarding Pops' situation. He (Pops) is looking forward to his new challenge of bringing the Euroleague title back to Tel Aviv."
