Nikola
Mirotic
Most of them are not the top names in their clubs but they have the potential for an impressive performance this year. Let's see some players who could have a breakout season in the upcoming Euroleague.

10. Krunoslav Simon (197-G/F-85, agency: Beo Basket) : The left-handed slasher and KK Zagrebs living legend, left the club after many years for coach Repesas Unicaja. Simon shows an all around offensive game with a variety of moves and excellent ballhandling ability. He could have his chances in an offense that gives opportunities to players able to create their own shoots.

9. K.C. Rivers (196-G/F-87, college: Clemson) : One of the best spot shooters in Europe. Hell find those shoots in Khimkis offense which is used to play this way (with the presence of Kelati) and also has great split-out guards like Planinic and Koponen. Rivers is an excellent defender (uses great his 6'9'' wingspan), has high basketball IQ and plays a low mistake basketball since the Clemson-years.

8. Sylven Landesberg (198-F/G-90, college: Virginia): Davin Smith is injured and David Logan tries to find his rhythm. Landesberg is the biggest underdog in David Blatt's rotation. Smart, knows how to put his body and taking advantage of his opponents weaknesses. Don't be surprised if the 22 year-old wing player become Maccabi's most reliable scorer through this season.

7. DaShaun Wood (185-G-85, college: Wright St.): Alba's leader and a great scoring-ace. Sasa Obradovic sign Avdalovic to release him from full PG duties. Wood is nodal for Alba's game. And this year is nodal for Wood's career if he wants to open an elite-club's door..

6. Marcus Slaughter (204-C/F-85, college: San Diego St.): The undersized bomb in the paint from Bamberg. Kyle Hines did a fantastic job in Olympiakos's transition offense. What can Slaughter do in Real Madrid's up tempo game? Ideal center for this kind of basketball and a rebounder ace.

5. Blake Schilb (200-G/F-83, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices, college: Loyola, IL): Is there any other player that is used both like a creator and a screener in pick'n roll situations so many times in a game? Schilb dominated French league with his speed of thought and enforcement.

4. Matt Janning (193-G-88, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college:Northeastern): Janning is very aggressive in the first games with Montepaschi and produces stable scoring. If he works on his weaknesses ( drive) he can be a complete perimeter player very soon.

Keep an eye to Victor Sanikidze too. Shawn Stonerook's ghost will be in Palaestra almost every night but that won't bother Sanikidze to produce high energy, fighting spirit and elite rebounding for Montepaschi.

3. Patrick Christopher (196-G-88, college: California): While the other Istanbul teams spend millions for McCalebb, Hawkins and Farmar, Besiktas manage to sign a great young player like Christopher. Great upsides, he needs to be more stable in his scoring by improving his shot selection. We expect a very hard-nosed perimeter line from Besictas with Jerrels-Asic-Guler and Christopher.

2. Leo Westermann (198-G-92, agency: Beo Basket): Rare leadership skills for his age. Patience and great court vision. He is focus on getting hia teammates involved in the offense. Westerman can excel in Vujosevic's half court offense.

1. Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91): In Real Madrid's high octane offense, Rudy-Carroll and Llull are the main weapons. But in the half court, Laso's secret ace will be Mirotic. There are many possibilities, after the end of season for Mirotic to be considered as Europe's best power forward.

Recap of Round 28 of Regular Season - 3 days ago
FC Barcelona - Crvena Zvezda 67-54 Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Serbian Crvena Zvezda (15-13) and Spanish FC Barcelona (11-17), which took place in Barcelona. 8th ranked Crvena Zvezda lost to eleventh ranked FC Barcelona in a road game 54-67.
