Unics Kazan - Le Mans 78-86
Le Mans registered second straight win in Euroleague Qualifying Round and advanced to the final game. There, Le Mans will meet Italian Cantu. The winner of that game will play in Euroleague 2012/13 regular season. Unics will compete in EuroCup. Joao Paulo Batista (207-F/C-81, college: Gonzaga) stepped up for Le Mans with double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Cuthbert Victor (197-F-83, college: Murray St.) and Charles Kahudi (197-F-86, agency: Beo Basket) scored 15 and 13 points respectively. Kostas Kaimakoglou (206-C/F-83) shined for Unics with 20 points and 8 rebounds, and Terrell Lyday (190-G-79, college: BYU) added 18 pts. Mire Chatman (187-PG-78, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: UTPA) had 13 points and 5 boards. Quarters: 20-22, 18-20, 23-16, 17-28. Final game between Le Mans and Cantu is scheduled for tomorrow at 20:30h. It will be played in Desio as well.

Cantu - CEZ Nymburk 89-83
Cantu is one win away from the Euroleague regular season. In the second stage of the Qualifying Round the Italian squad handed 89-83 loss to CEZ Nymburk. The reigning Czech champion will compete in EuroCup this season. In the last game of qualifications Cantu will meet the winner of Unics Kazan - Le Mans match-up. Pietro Aradori (195-SG-88) top-scored in victory with 19 points. Jerry Smith (188-PG-87, college: Louisville) had 16 points and 5 assists, while Jeff Brooks (203-F-89, college: Penn St.) netted 13 pts. Smith was the MVP of this game with valuation 20. In defeat, A.J. Abrams (180-G-86, agency: Two Points, college: Texas) and Michael Taylor (188-G-86, agency: Priority Sports, college: Iowa St.) answered with 16 points each. Lukas Palyza (204-F-89) was third scorer in Nymburk with 13 pts. Maarten Leunen (206-F-85, college: Oregon) nailed back-to-back three-pointers to end the third-quarter and start the fourth as Cantu used a 13-0 run to surge ahead 74-57. Nymburk fought its way back within 6 in the final minute, but Cantu held on. Quarters: 23-17, 20-27, 25-13, 21-26. Last game of the Qualifying Round is scheduled for tomorrow at 20:30h in Desio, Italy.

Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul (BSL) have reportedly re-signed 28-year old American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-95kg-89, college: Pittsburgh). He played there last season. In 31 BSL games he recorded 14.9ppg, 2.2rpg and 4.5apg. Wanamaker helped them to make it to the semifinals. Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz (Liga Endesa) signed 28-year old Italian-Uruguayan guard Jayson Granger (189-87kg-89). He has played for the last two seasons at Anadolu Efes in Turkish BSL league. In 32 games he had 9.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.9apg and 1.3spg last season. Granger helped them to make it to the cup final and to the league semifinals. Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (Winner League) signed 29-year old American point guard Norris Cole (188-79kg-88, college: Cleveland State). He played last season at Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. In 16 games he had 3.0ppg. Cole also played that season for Golden Stars in Chinese CBA where in 9 games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.3apg and 1.7spg.
