Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos: Keys to tonight's game - Oct 22, 2012

The two rivals enter tonight's a new age in their battle. Zelimir Obradovic is not around anymore, Olympiakos is the champion and Panathinaikos the contender. Many things changed.. Let's see some of the keys to tonight's game.

- Olympiakos will clearly try to play in a faster pace, run in the open court and get advantage of it's athleticism and transition offense. On the other side, Panathinaikos wants to play on a slower pace and targets to attack with it's half court offense, getting advantage of it's high 2% FG percentage with the presence of Schortsanitis.

- Kyle Hines can be Olympiakos's X-Factor with his ability to drive into the lane .Stephan Lasme is the only one who can follow Hines, but the forward-center from Gabon is not 100% ready yet. Spanoulis is the team's superstar but the Red's poison is coming off the bench. Printezis, Hines, Law..

- 2012/13 Panathinaikos doesn't have the quality of last year's team but it's obvious that has improved a lot it's athleticism in order to be competitive against his rival. The Greens must focus in the board-battle and not give second chances to their opponent. It is known that Olympiakos supports it's offense with offensive rebound.

-Coach Bartzokas has prepared Olympiakos defense against Diamantidis and Schortsanitis. The Reds will try an over play defense against the opponent's captain, denying every pass on him. The main target is to let Ukic and Ukic run Panathinaiko's offense..

Crucial point

The 3-point point shot percentage of Panathinaikos. Maybe the most important factor in tonight's game. The Greens know that they'll found good looks behind the arc, especially with Schortsanitis in the court. Olympiakoss defense will gamble, probably with Ukic or Kitchen and Maciulis, giving them in purpose some good looks in order to protect the paint.
