24-year old center Tina Charles (193-C-88, agency: LBM Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for Wisla Can-Pak and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 6. She had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while her team edged out Rivas Ecopolis (#3, 3-2) 66-62. Wisla Can-Pak is placed at 5th position in Euroleague group A. Wisla Can-Pak is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. Charles turned to be Wisla Can-Pak's top player in her first season with the team. Tina Charles averages just after three games 29.7ppg and 12.7rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86) of league's second-best Fenerbahce. She is a in her first season at Fenerbahce. In the last game McCoughtry recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Fenerbahce to edge slightly lower-ranked Good Angels (#3, 3-2) by 2 points 93-91. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in group B. Fenerbahce consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. McCoughtry is a newcomer at Fenerbahce and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Shenise Johnson (180-G-90) of UNIQA Eurol. (#6). Johnson scored 26 points. Despite Johnson's great performance UNIQA Eurol. lost 69-73 to slightly higher-ranked Nadezhda O. (#5, 3-2). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. UNIQA Eurol. can only dream about fighting for top spots in group B. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Johnson she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Johnson has individually a great season in Euroleague. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (7th best). She also has 2.8spg and FGP: 50.7%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Rebekkah Brunson (191-F/C-81) of USK Praha - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Delisha Milton-Jones (186-PF-74) of Tarsus Bld - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Plenette Pierson (188-PF-81) of Good Angels - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists 7.
