Bourges - IMOS Brno 85-60
Bourges won over IMOS Brno to finish with 9-3 record their EuroLeague Group campaign. The team sent IMOS Brno out of the Play-offs after an 85:60 win. Bourges led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bourges started with 26-12 lead and led 14 points at the halftime. They won the third period 23-18 and finished the game with 17-11 in the last stanza. They made 16-of-18 free shots during the game. The best player for the winners was Styliani Kaltsidou (188-F-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 17 points. Celine Dumerc (169-G-82) chipped in 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Nicole Ohlde (193-F/C-82, college: Kansas St.) produced 16 points and Farhiya Abdi added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Peckova also scored 12, while Hanusova notched 7.

Rivas Ecopolis - Spartak V MR 61-72
Spartak Moscow Region wins Group A with 10-2 record. The Russian titans overcame Rivas Ecopolis 72:61 in the last game. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game. Rivas enjoyed 20-13 advantage after the first 10 minutes, but then the Russian team won the second frame 25-13 and finished the game with 19-11. Marina Kuzina (195-C-85) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Seimone Augustus chipped in 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. Dupree notched 13 and Isabelle Yacoubou-Dehoui (190-C-86) delivered 9. Olexandra Kurasova (186-F-86) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Katalin Honti scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Cruz and Henry followed them with 10 points each as four Rivas Ecopolis players scored in double figures.

Tarsus Bld - Wisla Can-Pak 72-70
Tarsus Bld down Wisla Can-Pak in Turkey to finish their EuroLeague campaign on a high note. The Turkish team ended up Group B with 4-8 record after a 72:70 win. Wisla meanwhile advanced to the Play-offs with 6-6 record. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Wisla won the first period 20-16 and added 22-14 in the second frame. Tarsus Bld however needed a strong third period with 22-10 and then finished the game with 20-18 for the final success. Tarsus Bld forced 19 Wisla Can-Pak turnovers. Delisha Milton-Jones (186-PF-74, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Danielle Marie Robinson (178-G-89, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Alana Beard replied with 23 points and Tina Charles added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Wisla Can-Pak. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Group B
Fenerbahce - Familia Schio 82-68
Fenerbahce outgun visiting Familia Schio as both teams head to Play-offs of EuroLeague. The Turkish team closed the Group Stage with an 82:68 win and finished second with 9-3 record. The Italian team ended up with 7-5 record. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce. Familia Schio was better in fourth quarter 29-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Familia Schio 34-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-C-87) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86, college: Louisville) supported her with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by Jantel Lavender (190-C-88, college: Ohio St.)der did not help to save the game for Familia Schio. Laura Macchi added also 15 points for the guests. Giorgia Sottana (178-G-88, agency: Players Group) delivered 14, while McCray brought 11.

Targoviste - Good Angels 72-64
Targoviste grabs the last ticket to the Play-offs as they won over Good Angels tonight. The Romanian team needed a 72:64 win to finish with 4-8 record on the fifth place. Good Angels won the Group anyway with 9-3 record. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Good Angels won third quarter 22-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Targoviste won the last period 22-17 and sealed the important victory. The best player for the winners was Matee Ajavon (170-PG-86, college: Rutgers) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gabriela Marginean (182-F-87, college: Drexel) chipped in 21 points. Plenette Pierson produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Allie Quigley added 12 points respectively for the guests.

Nadezhda O. - Arras 89-71
Nadezhda vanquish Arras in Orenburg for 8-4 record in Group B. The Russian team advanced to the next stage of the competition with an 89:71 home win. Arras meanwhile is out of the Euroleague with 2-10 record. Nadezhda won the first period 23-18 and allowed the opponents to score the same number of points in the second period. It allowed them to take a 12-point advantage at the halftime. Arras however bounced back with 26-19 rally in the third period and after successive baskets by Pauline Akonga towards the end of the third period, they were just four points behind at 66:62. Nadezhda meanwhile needed a 22-9 surge to win the game. Bonner DeWanna and Montgomery Renee top-scored for the winners with 18 points. Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-C-83, agency: LBM Management, college: W.Illinois) and Sapova Liudmila delivered 12 points each in a win. Dawn Evans (170-PG-89, agency: LBM Management, college: JMU) replied with 16 points in the losing case and Akonga Nsimbo Pauline scored 15. Gomis Johanne poured in 14, whilst Malashenko Olesia had 12.

Group C
Novi Zagreb - Perfumerias 68-86
Perfumerias make the play-offs with a convincing win over Lupa Promotion. The Spanish side celebrated an 86:68 victory for 5-7 record in Group C. The Croatian side finished the campaign with 1-11 record. The game was mostly controlled by Perfumerias Avenida. Lupa Promotion was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perfumerias Avenida made 20-of-25 free shots during the game. Lupa Promotion was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Le'Coe Willingham (183-C-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Auburn) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Marta Fernandez (178-G/F-81) chipped in 14 points. Mirna Mazic produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Latoya Williams added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts.

USK Praha - Mondeville 56-51
USK Praha sent Mondeville out of the Play-offs in the most important game of the last round. The team from Czech Republic needed a 56:51 win and grabbed the last ticket to the next round. Although both teams finished with 5-7 record, Mondeville could not make it to the Play-offs. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mondeville won fourth quarter 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Rebekkah Brunson who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jelena Skerovic (176-G-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 7 points and 6 assists. Eva Viteckova (190-F-82) poured in 11 and Vaughn scored 10. Kristen Sharp produced 20 points and Ingrid Tanqueray added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests.

UMMC - Galatasaray 61-45
UMMC wins the Regular Season of EuroLeague with 11-1 record. The Russian team beat Galatasaray 61:45 in the first game of the last round. The Turkish side finished second in Group C with 9-3 record. Galatasaray needed the win for the top place and started with 16-13 rally. The guests also led 3 points at the halftime, but could not compete in the second half. UMMC won the third quarter 19-9 and then finished the game with 17-8 in the last stanza. Taurasi Diana top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Petrakova Anna nailed 13. Sandrine Gruda (193-C-87) delivered 11, while Deanna Nolan (182-G/F-79, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Georgia) scored 6. Lyttle Sancho finished the game with 12 points in the losing effort and Sylvia Fowles (198-C-85, college: LSU) poured in 10. Whalen Lindsay had 8, whilst Torrens Alba brought 6.   



A mix of old and new clubs for upcoming EuroLeague Women season - 2 days ago
18 clubs have registered to compete in the 16-team 2017/18 EuroLeague Women season, as confirmed by FIBA Europe on Tuesday. 14 clubs will earn a direct position to the EuroLeague Women Regular Season, which is set to tip-off on October 11, whilst the other four teams will play one of the other three in home-and-away Qualifiers in late September   [read more]

UMMC Ekaterinburg (PBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 19-year old Russian international power forward Raisa Musina (191-98). She played last season at CCC Polkowice in Polish TBLK. In 32 games she recorded 9.0ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.0apg. Musina helped them to make it to the semifinals. She also played 12 games in Euroleague where she averaged 5.5ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.0apg. UMMC Ekaterinburg (PBL) tabbed 27-year old international forward Tatiana Petrushina (185-90). It is actually her comeback to UMMC Ekaterinburg as she has played here before. Petrushina played most recently at Nadezhda Orenburg in the PBL. In 26 games she averaged 7.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.5apg and 1.0spg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals.
