Sasha Kaun
Center Sasha Kaun (211-C-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for CSKA, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7 (Top 16).
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (13 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Panathinaikos (#4, 4-3) with 17-point margin 86-69. CSKA maintains the 3rd position in Euroleague group E. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Top 16. CSKA will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Kaun has many years of experience at CSKA, through which he has constantly improved. Sasha Kaun averages this season 7.1ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Croatian Zoran Planinic (198-G-82) of Khimky. Planinic had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 13 assists. Bad luck as Khimky lost that game 82-87 to slightly higher-ranked Olympiacos (4-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in group F. Khimky still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Planinic is one of the most experienced players at Khimky and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Slovakian guard Anton Gavel (188-PG-84, agency: Pro One Sports) of Brose Bask. (#8). Gavel scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Gavel's great performance Brose Bask. lost 87-88in overtime to the higher-ranked Zalgiris (#5, 3-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Brose Bask. can only dream about fighting for top spots in group E. They have awful Top 16 losing so far all 7 games. Too bad for Gavel he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Gavel has a very solid season. In 16 games in Euroleague he scored 13.1ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) of Fener.Ulker - 25 points and 3 assists
5. Kyle Hines (198-F-86) of Olympiacos - 19 points and 6 rebounds
6. Paul Davis (211-C-84) of Khimky - 20 points and 9 rebounds
7. Rudy Fernandez (198-SF-85) of Real Madrid - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Vassilis Spanoulis (193-G-82) of Olympiacos - 19 points and 7 assists
9. Milos Teodosic (195-PG-87) of CSKA - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-SG-84) of Anadolu Efes - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
