Brose Baskets Bamberg inks Alex Renfroe - Mar 4, 2013

Brose Baskets Bamberg (BBL) agreed terms with 27-year old American point guard Alex Renfroe (191-80kg-86, college: Belmont). He was tested at Blancos de Rueda Valladolid in Spanish ACB league, but left the team last month, but it seems he will not stay with that team after all. In 22 ACB games he had 10.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 4.5apg and 1.1spg this season. The last season Renfroe played at Enel Brindisi (Lega2) in Italian league. In 38 games he recorded 12.5ppg, 5.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.9spg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Italian Lega2 2nd Team.
AddhereLastSeasonawards The previous (10-11) season Renfroe played at KK Zagreb (A1) in Croatian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 14 A1 games he recorded 11.0ppg, 5.2rpg, 3.7apg and 2.4spg. He contributed to his team winning the league title. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com Croatian A1 League All-Imports Team, Honorable Mention and All-Defensive Team. Renfroe also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded 11.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.5apg and 2.3spg. He also played 2 games in Eurocup where he recorded 12.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.5apg and 2.0spg. And finally Renfroe played 25 games in Adriatic League where he recorded 9.2ppg, 4.6rpg, 3.8apg and 1.8spg (leader !!!).
In 2009-10 season he played at VEF Riga (LBL) in Latvian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and Renfroe was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 22 LBL games he recorded 14.0ppg, 6.1rpg, 5.7apg and 2.1spg. Quite impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Latvian League Guard of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. He also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded very remarkable stats: 20.2ppg, 6.3rpg, 9.8apg and 2.7spg. Renfroe also played 2 games in Eurocup where he recorded also great stats: 17.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.0apg and 3.0spg. He also played 21 games in Baltic League where he recorded 14.7ppg, 7.1rpg (#5 in the league), 7.2apg (leader !!!) and 2.1spg (in top 3). He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. Quite impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Baltic League Import Player of the Year, Guard of the Year and named to 1st Team. Renfroe was voted A-Sun Player of the Year back in 2009 at his college time.
Renfroe graduated from Belmont University in 2009 and it is his fourth season as a professional player.
