Nikola
Mirotic
Montenegrin-Spanish power forward Nikola Mirotic (207-F/C-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Real Madrid, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10 (Top 16).
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Zalgiris (#6, 4-6) in overtime 105-104. It allowed Real Madrid to consolidate first place in the Euroleague group E. Real Madrid has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. Mirotic has many years of experience at Real Madrid, through which he has constantly improved. Nikola Mirotic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 5.4rpg) and averages impressive 58.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 29-year old Serbian Nenad Krstic (212-C-83) of CSKA. Krstic had a very good evening with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he lead CSKA to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Brose Bask. (#8, 0-10) 78-58. CSKA's 3rd position in group E has not changed. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Krstic is well-known at CSKA and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.9ppg (#7). He also registered 4.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bosnia and Herzegovina guard Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) of Fener.Ulker (#7). Bogdanovic scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Bogdanovic's great performance Fener.Ulker lost 85-94 to slightly higher-ranked Maccabi T-A (#5, 5-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Fener.Ulker can only dream about fighting for top spots in group F. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Bogdanovic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Bogdanovic has individually a great season in Euroleague. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tremmell Darden (194-G/F-81) of Zalgiris - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-C-79) of Zalgiris - 14 points and 5 rebounds
6. Vassilis Spanoulis (193-G-82) of Olympiacos - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ricky Hickman (189-PG-85) of Maccabi T-A - 18 points and 6 assists
8. K.C. Rivers (196-G-87) of Khimky - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Luka Zoric (211-C-84) of Unicaja - 14 points and 9 rebounds
10. Jordan Farmar (188-PG-86) of Anadolu Efes - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
