Spartak Moscow won Euroleague !!!!
Spartak Moscow Region won the most important trophy in
women club basketball in Europe - Euroleague
Championship. They defeated on the home court Ros
Casares Valencia 76-62. Spartak was lead by their two
Diana Taurasi (180-G-82, college:
Tina Thompson (188-F-75, college:
USC), who controlled the game from the first
minutes. Thompson was voted MVP of the Final Four where
she scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Interesting
that Spartak is not even the leader in domestic league
as together with Dynamo Moscow is placed second after
CSKA Moscow. Spartak surprisingly defeated CSKA in the
Euroleague semifinals 90-76. The game was opportunity
for two Polish international to face each other, despite
no Polish team advanced to the Final Four.
Agnieszka Bibrzycka (184-F/G-82, college:
Abilene Christian) of Spartak celebrated the victory
Malgorzata Dydek (213-C-74) of Ros Casares.
