UMMC Defeats Fenerbahce for EuroLeague Crown - Mar 24, 2013

Final: UMMC - Fenerbahce 82-56
UMMC Defeats Fenerbahce for EuroLeague Crown. The Russian team allowed only 5 players to score from the opponent team and reached confident 82:56 victory. UMMC was the favourite of the competition and proved their ambitions for the title. UMMC started strong and took 26-11. The hosts of the competition Final stage never looked behind and enjoyed 15-point advantage at the halftime. Moreover UMMC added 27-20 rally in the third quarter and reached 22-point deficit. Another 16-12 rally in the last stanza brought them a so-expected title. Parker erupted with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Sandrine Gruda (193-C-87) collected 19 points and 8 rebounds. Taurasi netted 14 and Nolan posted 8. Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86, college: Louisville) and Ivana Matovic replied with 22 points each in defeat. Agnieszka Bibrzycka scored 9, while Ieva Kublina (193-C-82, college: Virginia Tech) delivered 2.


3rd Place: Good Angels - Bourges 57-65
Bourges clinch Bronze in Ekaterinburg as they won the game for the 3rd-4th place against Good Angels. Bourges finished an outstanding EuroLeague season with a 65:57 win. Good Angels started the game better and took 19-7 lead at the end of the first period. They could not however win any other period and lost the game. Bourges posted a 19-8 rally in the second frame and then added 16-13 in the third period. Moreover the French side finished the game with 23-17 surge in the last stanza and finished third in the standings! Celine Dumerc (169-G-82) top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Emmeline Ndongue (192-C-83) as well as Romane Bernies (170-PG-93) had 10 each. Coleman Marissa followed them with 9 points. Quigley Allie answered with 18 points, while Natasha Lacy (178-PG-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: UTEP) notched 11. Plenette Pierson (188-PF-81, college: Texas Tech) scored 10 and Krivacevic Tijana ended up with 8 points.
