Group A
Ukraine - Estonia 67-50
It was a do-or-die game for both teams. Ukraine outplayed Estonia today 67-50 for 1-2 record in Group A of U16 EuroBasket Division B in Tallinn. Thanks to this victory Ukraine advanced to the next stage. At the other side, Estonia finished Preliminary Round with 0-3. They will be transferred to classification round from 13th-15th places. Ukraine exploded after the breather to secure this crucial win. Quarters: 12-7, 21-17, 22-9, 12-17. Vita Gorobets (180-SG-96) scored 22 points in victory and Olga Yatskovets (181-C-97) added 18 points, plus 12 rebounds. Anastasiya Polovynka (176-G-96) collected 11 points and 9 boards. In Estonia, Kadri-Ann Lass (177-F-96) posted 15 pts. Laura Reissar (171-PG-97) and Tatjana Razguliajeva (173-G-96) had 11 and 10 points respectively. All teams will take a rest tomorrow.

Portugal - Finland 44-58
Finland is the winner of Preliminary Group A at U16 EuroBasket Division B in Tallinn. They cruised past Portugal today 44-58 for perfect 3-0 record in this pool. Portugal faced with first loss and finished as the second ranked team. Both countries advanced to the Qualifying Round. Finland had impressive start and managed to keep the lead for rest of the way. Quarters: 7-22, 14-11, 9-9, 14-16. Tuuli Menna (183-F-96) led Finland with double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Olivia Moskari (175-F-96) and Emilia Helle (169-PG-96) scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Simone Costa (176-G-96) had 12 points in defeat. Maria Kostourkova (188-C-97) followed with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Championship continues on Monday.

Group B
Israel - Denmark 68-57
Israel registered first win at U16 EuroBasket Division B. They outplayed Demark today 68-57 for 1-1 record in Preliminary Group B. At the same time, Denmark faced with the second loss. This is the only group with three teams and all of them advanced to the next stage. Wins and defeats will be transferred. Israel totally took control on Denmark after the halftime and it allowed them to take the first win in Tallinn. Quarters: 10-12, 14-20, 26-13, 18-12. Eden Porat (176-F-96) shined with 17 points and 9 rebounds in Israel. Noa Zelivanski (171-PG-96) scored 15 points and Yarden Danan (177-SG-97) added 11 pts, plus 7 boards. Denmark got 11 points from Enna Pehadzic (176-G/F-97) and Sarah Mortensen (182-F-97). They grabbed 13 and 11 rebounds respectively. Championship continues on Monday.

Group C
Romania - Poland 62-67
Poland outsmarted Romania today in Tallinn 62-67 for perfect 3-0 record. It means that Poland won Group C and advanced to the Qualifying Round of U16 EuroBasket Division B. They are placed to Group F. At the other side, Romania finished as the last ranked team in this pool and will continue in Classification Round. They will fight for 13th place at this event. Poland had to work very hard to take this victory. Quarters: 15-15, 17-19, 12-15, 18-18. Monika Radomska (188-PF-96) scored 16 points and Aleksandra Mysinska (173-PG-96) added 13 points, plus 6 rebounds for the winners. Amalia Rembiszewska (189-F-96) collected 11 points and 7 boards from 13 minutes on the court. Mihaela Maxim (167-PG-96) answered with 17 points and 5 rebs in defeat. Vasilica Cuzic (171-G-96) and Paula Lenart (178-F/G-96) (12 rebs) scored 13 and 10 pts respectively. Championship continues on Monday.

Bulgaria - Luxembourg 60-58
Bulgaria grabbed 60-58 thriller win against Luxembourg in the last day of the Preliminary Round in Tallinn. Thanks to this win Bulgaria finished as No.2 in Group C with 2-1 record. Luxembourg dropped to third place with 1-2. Both teams advanced to the Qualifying Round at this event (U16 EuroBasket Division B). Luxembourg had 55-58 lead in the finish, but they were scoreless for rest of the way, while at the other side Iva Georgieva (172-F-96) and Magdalena Nedelova (180-F-96) netted 5 pts for the final 60-58 victory. Quarters: 13-17, 15-13, 19-14, 13-14. Teodora Dineva (175-G-96) led Bulgaria with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Iva Georgieva scored 13 points and Nedelova added 10 pts, plus 7 boards. Mia Pauly (176-F-96) delivered 16 points in defeat. Lisa Jablonowski (186-C-97) had 14 points and 8 boards, while Cathrin Wolff (179-C-96) had 9 pts and same number of rebounds. Teams will take a rest tomorrow.

Group D
Slovenia - Norway 79-22
As expected, Slovenia registered easy win against Norway today 79-22. Slovenians are the winners of Preliminary Group D with perfect 3-0 record. Of course, they advanced to the next stage of U16 EuroBasket Division B in Tallinn. Norway faced with third loss in the same numbers of games and finished as the last ranked team in this pool. Norway will be transferred to Classification Round. Slovenia kept its rival scoreless for the last ten minutes of the game. Quarters: 17-8, 24-8, 18-6, 20-0. Teja Dimec (192-C-97) had 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Pia Prasnikar (178-PF-97) had double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds while Neza Murn (186-C-98) added 10 pts and 5 rebs. FINAL Spain - Germany 64-48 Spain conquered the title in Udine. They rallied past Germany in the championship game tonight. The victory marked the sixth title for the Spanish youngsters in the last ten editions of the tournament.
