Cyprus advanced to the Big Final of U16 EuroBasket Division C in Gibraltar. They handed 62-39 loss to Scotland in the Semis. Cyprus made impressive 22-2 in third quarter to secure the victory in this meeting. Tijana Raca (176-SG-97) led the winners with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
In the other Semis, Iceland destroyed host Gibraltar with huge 107-20.
In the first games of Classification Round from 5th to 8th place, Andorra was better than Monaco 49-42. Claudia Brunet (163-PG-96) scored 27 points in victory. Also today, Malta outplayed Wales 67-38. Monique Caruana (146-PG-96) had 12 pts and 4 assists in Malta.
Tomorrow, Cyprus and Iceland will meet in the Finals, while Scotland and Gibraltar will play for the Bronze. Andorra and Malta will play for 5th place, while Wales and Monaco will meet each other and winner will avoid last place at this event.

France earn title in Bourges - 5 days ago
FINAL France - Hungary 63-55 France earned the title in Bourges. The hosts outgunned Hungary in the championship game tonight. Zoe Wadoux (178-F-01) came up with 22 points to lead les Bleues. Hungary jumped to a 13:8 lead after ten minutes. But France went on an 18:11 run in the second term to ensure a 26:24 halftime lead. France fueled a 23:13 run in the third term to ensure a double-digit advantage. Hungary cut the distance in the fourth period but France held on to clinch Gold medals....   [read more]

Semifinals Hungary - Latvia 63-45 Hungary outgunned Latvia to ensure the championship game birth. Reka Manyoky (183-SG-01) stepped up with 14 points in the win. Hungary accumulated a 33:21 halftime lead. They held Latvia to only 24 points in the second half to march to the win. Nora Wentzel (178-F-01) chipped in 12 points in the victory.
