Spain - Bosnia 78-86 2OT
Bosnia needed two overtimes to beat Spain at the U16 European Championship, Semifinal game and advanced to the Final after an 86-78 win. Both teams exchanged the confident victories in the first half and then stayed close to each other for the rest of the game. Only in the second extra time Bosnia celebrated the success. Dzanan Musa (202-G-99, agency: Beo Basket), Sani Campara (188-PG-99) and Njegos Sikiras combined for 71 points to pace the winners. Sergi Martinez (200-PF-99) replied with 27 points and 20 boards in a loss. On Sunday Bosnia will take on Lithuania for the Gold, while Spain will play against Turkey for the third place.

Lithuania - Turkey 73-71
Lithuania will enter the Final game of the U16 European Championship as they overcame Turkey 73-71 at the Semifinal. Arnas Velicka (192-PG-99) brought the victory for the hosts as he drove for a lay-up at the end of the game. Turkey led the game for almost the entire game, but they were just lacking in terms of decision making late on. Vitalijus Kozys (195-SF-99) top-scored for the winners with 12 points and Sargiunas netted 11. Onuralp Bitim (193-SG-99) answered with 18 points for Turkey that will face Spain in the game for the third place on Sunday. Lithuania will take on Bosnia in the Final game.
5-8 Place
Finland - Serbia 68-63
Finland surprised Serbia 68-63 at the U16 European Championship and qualified for their first FIBA U17 World Championship. Serbia took 19-11 early lead, but Finland responded with a 23-13 run in the second period and added a 17-8 surge in the third quarter. Elias Valtonen (192-G/F-99) showed once again why he has been one of the stars of the tournament as he went for 25 points and six blocks, while Heinonen added 13. Andrija Marjanovic (196-F-99) responded with 13 points in a loss as Serbia will face Germany in the game for seventh place on Sunday.

France - Germany 57-55
France booked their place at next year's U17 World Championship as they overcame Germany 57-55 at the U16 European Championship in Kaunas. Both teams exchanged the narrow win in the first half as the board showed 29-29 at the halftime. Germany posted a 17-13 rally in the third period, while France needed a 15-9 surge in the final stanza to seal the victory. Ivan Fevrier (200-F-99) had 17 points and nine rebounds for France, while Yanik Blanc (183-G-99) added 15. Herkenhoff answered with 17 points and 15 rebounds in a loss.

9-12 Place
Latvia - Croatia 70-78
Croatia beat Latvia 78-70 at the U16 European Championship at the Classification Round for 9-12 places. Although Croatia dominated the first half and led by 10 points, Latvia managed to grab a 63-60 lead with five minutes remaining. Only after that a 7-0 run allowed Croatia to ensure the victory. Antonio Jularic (190-PG-99) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Ivan Vrgoc (202-PF-99) posted 15. Arturs Kurucs (189-SF-00) delivered 32 points in the losing effort. On Sunday Italy will take on Croatia in the game for the 9th place, while Montenegro will play against Latvia for the 11-12 places.

Montenegro - Italy 65-73
Italy posted a 73-65 win over Montenegro at the Classification Round game in Kaunas on Saturday. The Italian side took a 21-15 lead at the end of the first period and led by 6 points at the halftime. Moreover they increased to 12 points at the end of thirty minutes to ensure the victory. Michele Ebeling (200-PF-99) paced Italy's offence with 18 points, while Stefanini notched 14. Igor Drobnjak (184-G-00) answered with 26 points in defeat and Stavkovic posted 23. On Sunday Italy will take on Croatia in the game for the 9th place, while Montenegro will play against Latvia for the 11-12 places.
13-16 Place
United Kingdom - Israel 77-76
England overcame Israel 77-76 at the U16 European Championship in Kaunas and sent the losing side to Division B for the next year. Israel led 29-15 after the first period, but could not keep the win. England needed a 14-0 run and then grabbed the necessary win. Nelson Boachie-Yiadom (197-F-99) erupted with 27 points and 16 rebounds, while Jacob Round (191-G/F-00) netted 16. Amit Ebo (179-G-99) responded with 32 points in the losing effort and Amit Suss posted 22. Tomorrow England will take on Greece.

France crowned champions in Podgorica - 1 month ago
FINAL Montenegro - France 68-75 France celebrated title in Podgorica. They upset hosting Montenegro in the championship game today. Killian Hayes (194-G-01) stepped up with 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead les Bleues. France recorded a 28:14 lead after ten minutes. Montenegro worked hard to narrow the deficit at 4-point mark at the final intermission. But France replied with a 19:16 run in the fourth period to capture the trophy.
