Greece - France 90-85 Greek U20 National Team triumphed at home European Championship. They thus snapped the hegemony of Serbia in Europe winning the first title since 2002. Seven Greek players scored in double digits to pace the Hellenes to the huge success. France also got things to be proud of as they have shown the best result ever at the tournament. They finished in the third position in 2002. Kostas Papanikolaou (203-F/G-90) finished with 15 points, 6 boards and 4 assists for Greece. Georgios Bogris (209-C/F-89), Charalampos Giannopoulos and Konstantinos Sloukas added 14 points each in the victory. Edwin Jackson responded with game-high 32 points and 8 boards for France. Antoine Diot chipped in 21 points, pulled down 7 boards and issued 6 assists in the loss.

Serbia - Ukraine 83-56 Serbia claimed the 11th spot at the U20 European Championship in Greece. They held off Ukraine in the final game at the tournament today. Ukraine beat Serbia in the preliminary round but a Slobodan Klipa team took revenge. Ukraine opened their campaign with two victories but then suffered six consecutive defeats to occupy just the 12th position in the final ladder. Aleksandar Mitrovic (202-G-90) netted 18 points to pace Serbia. Dragan Milosavljevic and Bojan Subotic added 12 points apiece for the winners. Stanislav Tymofeyenko responded with 16 points and 7 boards for Ukraine. Anton Schepkin had 12 points in the losing effort.
3rd place
Spain - Italy 75-72 Spain stepped up on the podium at the U20 European Championship in Greece. They defeated Italy to earn the bronze medals today. Italy finished in the fourth position. Pere Tomas (202-F-89) scored 18 points and pulled down 6 boards to pace Spain. Pablo Aguilar had 14 points for Spain. Sergio De La Fuente netted 13 points and 7 boards for the winners. Paolo Rotondo responded with 12 points for Italy. Daniele Sandri had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
5th place
Turkey - Lithuania 72-77 Lithuania clinched the fifth position at the U20 European Championship in Greece. They wrapped up their campaign with victory over Turkey today. Adas Juskevicius (193-G/F-89) tallied 21 points and 6 boards for Lithuania. Sarunas Vasiliauskas added 19 points in the winning effort. Ibrahim Yildirim responded with 19 points for Turkey. Melih Mahmutoglu had 12 points in the loss.
7th place
Croatia - Montenegro 76-77 Montenegrin U20 National Team clinched the 7th overall spot at the European Championship in Greece. They held off Croatia in thriller to claim the place. Sead Sehovic (201-C/F-89) was back to his usual form with 19 points, 5 boards and 5 assists for Montengro. Milos Savovic knocked down 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Montenegro. Nikola Djokovic added 11 points in the win. Miro Bilan responded with 23 points for Croatia. Bojan Bogdanovic had 15 points and 1o caroms in defeat.
9th place
Latvia - Russia 66-89 Russia earned the 9th spot at the U20 European Championship in Greece. They outgunned Latvia today to complete the action at the tournament. Andrey Kirdyachkin (202-F/C-90) poured in 22 points to lead Russia to the victory in this one. Semen Antonov dropped 13 points and grabbed 8 boards for Russia. Vladimir Ivlev had 11 points in the winning effort. Andris Justovics responded with 13 points for Latvia. Lauris Blaus delivered 12 points in the losing case.
