Czech Republic - Greece 71-76 Greece won the gold medal at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. They outsmarted Czech Republic 76-71 in the last day of the competition. Greece also won the promotion for Division A, while the host of this event failed to do it. They ended as No.5 with 4-4 record. Artemis Spanou (184-F/C-93) exploded with 33 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Anna Stamolamprou (171-PG-95) netted 18 points and Vasiliki Tarla (181-SF-94) was their third scorer with 6 points (5 rebs). For the hosts, Dominika Pohunkova (176-G-94) shined with 16 points and Pamela-Therese Effangova (175-SF-93) added four points less. Barbora Kasparkova (181-F/C-92) collected 11 pts and 7 rebs. Greece shined in the last ten minutes to beat Czech Republic. Quarters: 12-21, 23-19, 20-14, 16-22. Germany won the silver medal in Klatovy. Hungary took the bronze. Romania - Switzerland 43-65 Switzerland avoided last place at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. They handed 65-43 loss to Romania in the last day of the competition. Thanks to this win Switzerland ended as No.7 with 2-6 record. Romania finished as fourth ranked team with 4-4 score. Switzerland took control on its rival in the second period and never looked back. Quarters: 16-16, 6-17, 12-16, 9-16. Rosalie Grobet (185-F/C-92) led the winners with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Sarah Cavin (178-SF-92) scored 13 points and Vanessa Dorestant (170-G-92) added 11 pts, plus 6 boards. In defeat, Cristina Bigica (182-G/F-92) was better than the others with 12 points. Their second scorer was Dora Ardelean (186-PF-94) with 10 pts. Greece won the gold medal at this event. Germany is No.2 and Hungary No.3. All three teams will compete in Division A next summer.
Bulgaria - Germany 64-83 Germany won the silver medal at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. They outplayed Bulgaria in the last day of the competition 83-64. Germany (6-2) also won the promotion for Division A. At the other side, Bulgaria ended as the last ranked team in Klatovy with 1-7 score. Germany took control on its rival from the very beginning and never looked back. Quarters: 12-23, 16-17, 14-22, 22-21. Sonja Greinacher (192-F/C-92, college: Gonzaga) was the MVP of this game with 20 points and 8 rebounds (valuation 25). Finja Schaake (179-F-92) scored 10 points and Janna Graf (183-PF-92) added 8 pts, plus 6 rebounds. Kristina Peychinova (176-SG-94) responded with 17 points in defeat. Gabriela Kostova (192-C-94) followed her with 15 points and 5 rebs, and Ralitsa Genova (192-C-95) stopped to 7 points. Greece won the gold medal in Klatovy. The Bronze belongs to Hungary.
Hungary - Belgium 56-41 Hungary won the bronze medal at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. They outplayed Belgium in the last day of the competition 56-41. It is important to say that Hungary also won the promotion and will compete in Division A next summer. Belgium finished as the seventh ranked team in Klatovy with 3-5 score. Zsofia Licskai (191-C/F-93) had 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners, and Viktoria Fuisz (175-G/F-93) added 10 points. Flora Szabo (188-PF-92) helped with 6 pts and 5 boards. In Belgium, Marieke Versavel (168-PG-92) top-scored with only 7 points. Celine Henry (174-F-93) had 6 points and 5 rebounds. Hungary exploded in the last ten minutes to take the victory in this meeting. Quarters: 14-11, 9-10, 8-11, 25-9. Greece won the gold medal in Klatovy. Silver belongs to Germany.

Samsun to host Division A from 4-14 July. The Turkish city will invite 16 teams that are divided into 4 groups.
Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus and Netherlands will play in Group A.
Poland, Slovak Republic, Greece and Spain made Group B. In Group C Italy will play against Russia, Hungary and France. Turkey, Lithuania, Germany and Sweden were sent to Group D.

Russia - Spain 46-59 Spain was too strong for Russia tonight 59-46 in the gold medal game at U20 EuroBasket in Debrecen. It means that Spain defended the title which they won last summer in Novi Sad. A year ago Spain also outplayed Russia in the title game 62-53. Queralt Casas (180-G-92) stepped up for the winners tonight with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Laura Gil (190-C-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had double-double of 10 points and 16 boards, while Inmaculada Zanoguera (177-G/F-93) added 10 points and 6 rebs. Gil was the MVP of this meeting with valuation 21. In Russia, Ksenia Tikhonenko (190-F/C-93, agency: Ryzhov Stanislav) had 12 points and 6 rebounds, and Yulia Poluyanova (187-F-92) posted 10 pts. Galina Kiseleva (184-F-93) followed them with 9 points and 8 boards. Spain limited Russia to just 4 points in Q1 and was up by 8 after it (12-4). Spain was constantly in charge for rest of the game. Holland - Turkey 56-58 Turkey won the bronze medal at U20 EuroBasket in Derbecen. They grabbed 58-56 thriller win against Holland in the last day of the competition. Turkey shined from the start making plus 7 in the first ten minutes and later they jumped to 40-28 until the halftime. Each of two teams scored 10 points in Q3 and than Holland took control on its rival. They cut the margin to 56-54 with 1:47 remaining in the game, but the ice-cool Emel Guler nailed the shot that ultimately won the game and ended what would have been an epic and fairytale finish for the crestfallen Dutch. It is important to mention that Holland came to minus 2 again and they missed two lay-ups and one jump shot in the last 36 seconds of the game. Ayse Cora (175-G/F-93) led Turkey with 17 points in this meeting. Olcay Cakir (180-PG-93) had 15 points and 6 assists, while Ecem Guler (189-PF-92) added 9 points and 9 rebs. In defeat, Sharon Lammerink (189-C-93) was better than the others with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Marlou De Kleijn (182-F-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) and Richelle Van Der Keijl (196-C-93) (9 rebs) netted 14 and 10 points respectively. Holland was 0-18 from three-point range until the late intervention of Lammerink who hit three in a row during the last couple of minutes. Sweden - France 46-66 France finished as the fifth ranked team of U20 EuroBasket in Debrecen. They downed Sweden 66-46 in the last day of the competition. Sweden ended as No.6. Second quarter was the crucial on in this meeting as France limited its rival to just 3 points, while they drained 17 pts at the other side. Quarters: 17-12, 17-3, 15-17, 17-14. Christelle Diallo (193-C-93) led the winners with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Alice Nayo (186-C-93) (6 rebs) and Adja Konteh (173-G/F-92) helped with 10 points each. In the loosing squad, Farhiya Abdi (188-F-92) (6 rebs) and Amanda Zahui (190-C-93) (5 rebs) scored 11 points apiece. Binta Drammeh (180-F-92) followed them with 6 points and 6 rebounds, with poor shot percentage. Spain defended the title in Debrecen with 59-46 win over Russia. Turkey won the bronze medal.

Ukraine - Belarus 79-62 It was a game for the seventh place at U20 EuroBasket in Debrecen. Ukraine had no troubles to beat Belarus with comfortable 79-62. So Ukraine ended as the 7th ranked team at this event, while Belarus in No.8. Ukraine was up by 3 at the halftime and jumped to plus 8 with one quarter left in the game. They drained 26 points for the last ten minutes, while limiting Belarus to 17, what was enough for comfortable win at the end. Alina Iagupova (186-G-92, agency: LBM Management) once again was a key player in Ukraine and she almost had triple-double in this game: 31 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (valuation 31). Oleksandra Chek (191-C-93, agency: New Trend Agency) also was great adding 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Miriam Uro-Nile (190-C-94) helped with 9 pts. In defeat, Maryia Papova (186-PF-94) shined with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Maryia Filonchyk (187-PF-92) had 12 points and 6 boards, while Alena Holubeva (176-PG-94) stopped to 8 pts and 5 rebs. Italy - Latvia 83-59 Italy survived in Division A of U20 EuroBasket in Debrecen. They won Group G with perfect 6-0 record and that is enough for 13th place at this event. At the other side, Latvia finished as third ranked team in this pool (15th place) with 3-3 record. They will compete in Division B next summer. Italy shined in the second half of the game to beat Latvia on Sunday. Quarters: 13-10, 18-18, 24-12, 28-19. Caterina Dotto (167-PG-93) (5 rebs) and Irene Cigliani (177-F-92) scored 14 points each for the winners. Stella Panella (178-F-93) followed them with one point less. United Kingdom - Portugal 54-62 Both teams faced with relegation to Division B at U20 EuroBasket in Derbecen. Portugal finished as the second ranked team of Group G with 3-3 record, while UK closes the standings in this pool with 0-6. It means that Portugal ended as No.14 in Debrecen and UK is the last ranked team - No.16. Jessica Almeida (172-PG-93) led Portugal to victory in the final day with 20 points. Daniela Domingues (176-G/F-92) scored 18 and Vitoria Pacheco (179-C-92) added 8 points, plus 5 rebounds. In the loosing squad, Cheridene Green (187-C-95) was better than the others with double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds.
