Group A
Greece - Sweden 79-44
Greece bruised Sweden to take 2-0 record in Group A. Vasileos Christidis (206-C/F-98, agency: Octagon Europe) posted 24 points to lead the winners. Greece grabbed a 34:23 halftime lead. The hosts stayed in control throughout the second half and marched to a well-deserved win at the end. Theodoros Karras (203-F-96) provided 15 points for the Hellenes. Simon Birgander (211-F/C-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Sweden.

Germany - Czech Republic 90-51
Germany opened win count in Crete. They stormed past Czech Republic in Group A. Leon Kratzer (210-C-97) recorded 15 points to lead the winners. Germany accumulated a 43:33 halftime lead. Germany went on a 29:9 run in the third term to run away for good. Tim Schneider (208-PF-97) produced 14 points in the victory. Frantisek Vana (192-G/F-98) responded with 15 points for Czech Republic.

Group B
Turkey - Iceland 82-66
Turkey held off Iceland to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Turkey overcame a slow start to tame their opponents. Turkey grabbed a 39:29 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 16-point mark at the final break and coasted to the victory. Egehan Arna notched 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists for Turkey. Omer Yurtseven (213-C-98) added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Tryggvi Hlinason (215-C-97) and Snjolfur Stefansson (192-G/F-98) had 12 points each for Iceland.

France - Montenegro 76-73 OT
France narrowly defeated Montenegro in overtime. Elie-Franck Okobo (191-PG-97) posted 16 points to lead the winners. France accumulated a 32:25 halftime lead. Montenegro managed to erase the deficit in the fourth quarter and forced overtime. France sank 13 points in the extra period and sealed the win. Amine Noua (202-PF-97, agency: BeoBasket) provided 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Milic Starovlah (196-F-98, agency: Interperformances) responded with 25 points for Montenegro.

Group C
Lithuania - Israel 88-94
Israel outscored Lithuania to stay perfect in Group C. Tamir Blatt (180-PG-97) came up with 27 points, 13 assists and 8 boards to lead the winners. Israel enjoyed a 34:22 lead after ten minutes. Israel extended the gap at 13-point mark heading into the fourth and protected the lead to claim the victory. Roi Huber (188-PG-97) delivered 19 points for the winners. Martynas Varnas (196-G/F-97) responded with 22 points and 8 boards for Lithuania.

Latvia - Ukraine 62-75
Ukraine outgunned Latvia to open win count in Greece. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (203-G-97) provided 26 points and 7 boards for the winners. Ukraine jumped to a 31:21 lead after ten minutes. Latvia got as close as 3 points heading into the fourth quarter. But Ukraine ignited a 19:9 run in the final period to snatch the win. Anton Musiyenko (192-G/F-97, agency: Lebedintsev Andriy) had 12 points for the winners. Renars Birkans (184-PG-97) responded with 15 points and 8 assists for Latvia.

Group D
Serbia - Slovenia 82-57
Serbia knocked down Slovenia to secure the second straight win in Crete. Vanja Marinkovic (198-SG-97, agency: BeoBasket) tossed in 18 points for the winners. Serbia grabbed a 25:13 lead after ten minutes. They went on a 32:16 run in the fourth period then to ice the win. Stefan Peno (198-G-97) and Nikola Tanaskovic (203-F-97, agency: BeoBasket) delivered 13 points each for Serbia. Urban Durnik (201-PF-97) and Jurij Macura (203-F/C-99) responded with 10 points apiece for Slovenia.

Spain - Italy 83-72
Spain secured the second consecutive win in Group D. They held off Italy today. Marc Marti (204-PF-97) stepped up with 20 points to lead the charge. Spain accumulated a 45:41 halftime advantage. They protected the advantage throughout the second half and raced to the win. Sergi Garcia (193-PG-97) netted 16 points, issued 7 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds for Spain. David Okeke (202-F/C-98, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points and 13 rebounds for Italy.

FINAL Greece - Israel 65-56 Greece celebrated Gold in Crete. The Hellenes prevailed against Israel to clinch the title. Antonios Koniaris (196-PG-97) came up with 15 points to lead the champions. Israel silenced the home crowd with a 16:9 start to the game. But Greece quickly picked up the tempo. The Hellenes went on a 17:7 run in the second term to gain a 26:23 halftime lead.
