Quarterfinals
Russia - Belgium 80-70
Russia outscored Belgium to advance into the semifinal round. Ilya Karpenkov (203-F/C-97) provided 16 points for the winners. Russia posted a 20:16 lead after ten minutes. Belgium tied things up at 39 after twenty minutes. Belgium surged ahead in the third term to eke out a 4-point lead. Russia however erupted for 26 points in the final stanza and celebrated victory. Timofey Gerasimov (195-G-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) had 15 points for the winners. Tim Lambrecht (206-F/C-98, agency: Court Side) responded with 21 points and 20 boards for Belgium.

Romania - Portugal 61-57
Romania beat Portugal to stay in the Division B title race. Emanuel Cate (206-C-97) produced 19 points and 10 rebounds to pace the winning side. Romania ensured a 16:11 lead after the first period. Portugal however went on a 20:10 run in the second term to secure a 31:26 halftime lead. Romania used a 22:8 rally in the third term to regain the advantage. Portugal narrowed the gap in the final period but could not rescue the game. Nandor Kuti (197-SG-97) and Nicolae-Bogdan Nicolescu (199-F-97) chipped in 11 points each for the winners. Carlos Cardoso (183-PG-97) responded with 14 points for Portugal.

Croatia - Georgia 74-71
Croatia held off Georgia to reach the semifinals. Leo Cizmic (206-F-98) delivered 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Georgia accounted for 42:41 halftime lead. Croatia drained 23 points in the third term to take a 5-point lead into the fourth term. Georgia limited their opponents to only 10 points in the final stanza but could not avoid the loss. Kresimir Ljubicic (210-C-98) recorded 13 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Goga Bitadze (211-C/F-99) responded with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Georgia.

Poland - United Kingdom 69-71
Great Britain entered the semifinal stage following a tough win over Poland. RJ Eytle-Rock (192-SG-98) and Kyle Carey (198-G/F-97) provided 13 points apiece for the Brits. Poland secured a 21:16 lead after ten minutes. But Great Britain went on a 22:16 run in the second term to eke out a 38:37 halftime lead. Poland held their opponents to just 9 points in the third term to spur ahead. But Great Britain once again survived the challenge. They dropped 24 points in the final period and got away with a narrow win. Amin Adamu (193-SG-97) chipped in 12 points for Great Britain. Daniel Golebiowski (196-G/F-98) responded with 15 points for Poland.
9-16 Place
FYR Macedonia - Kosovo 64-66
Kosovo nipped FYR Macedonia in the classification round game. Valon Bunjaku (198-SF-98) provided 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. FYR Macedonia erupted for 29 points in the opening frame to take a 13-point lead. But Kosovo turned things around in the next quarters. They stiffened defensively and managed to snatch a tough win. Muhamedali Janjeva (200-F-98) delivered 12 points for the winners. Damjan Robev (193-G/F-97) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for FYR Macedonia.

Finland - Slovakia 93-72
Finland breezed past Slovakia in Oradea today. Aatu Kivimaki (186-PG-97) produced 21 points in the victory. Finland accumulated a 47:35 halftime lead. They dropped 46 points in the second half to rally to the win. Edon Maxhuni (186-PG-98) had 17 points and 6 assists for Finland. Filip Halmes (199-F-97) and Marek Dolezaj (202-SF-98) responded with 18 points each for Slovakia.

Hungary - Albania 80-44
Hungary knocked down Albania behind 16 points from Attila Demeter (198-F/G-97) and Boris Krnjajski (188-G-98) each. Hungary piled up a 40:17 halftime lead. They dominated throughout the second half and coasted past Albania. Csaba Kucsora (190-G-98) tossed in 15 points for Hungary. Daniel Lekndreaj (192-F-97) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds for Albania.

Holland - Belarus 83-62
Terrence Bieshaar (208-C-97, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points to lead Netherlands past Belarus. Netherlands ignited an 18:7 run in the second term to open a 35:25 halftime lead. They went on a 29:13 run in the third period to build an unassailable lead. Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-F-97) and Irfan Ramovic (193-PG-98) delivered 13 points each for the winners. Andrey Stavrovskiy (185-PG-97) responded with 17 points for Belarus.
17-21 Place
Armenia - Azerbaijan 82-80
Armenia topped Azerbaijan in Oradea. Matthew Madoyan (195-F/G-97) came up with 20 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in the victory. Armenia jumped to a 25:15 lead after ten minutes. Azerbaijan erased the deficit in the second term to level things up at halftime. However Armenia used a 20:13 run in the third quarter to regain the advantage. They protected the lead throughout the final stanza and raced to a tough victory. Steven Enoch (210-C-97) had 15 points and 17 caroms for Armenia. Jordan Davis (193-G-97) answered with 26 points and 17 rebounds for Azerbaijan.

Moldova - Malta 48-96
Malta cruised past Moldova in the classification round. Kurt Cassar (209-C-99) stepped up with 19 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge. Malta grabbed a 40:21 halftime lead. They went on a 23:5 run in the fourth term and rallied to the victory. Jacob Formosa (188-G-97) had 18 points for the winners. Pavel Romanov (193-F/G-97) answered with 11 points for Moldova.

FINAL Greece - Israel 65-56 Greece celebrated Gold in Crete. The Hellenes prevailed against Israel to clinch the title. Antonios Koniaris (196-PG-97) came up with 15 points to lead the champions. Israel silenced the home crowd with a 16:9 start to the game. But Greece quickly picked up the tempo. The Hellenes went on a 17:7 run in the second term to gain a 26:23 halftime lead.
