Serbia -Bulgaria 74:64
Serbian basketball is on the top of the European standards and the way people like it there probably the best. Bulgarian National team could not steal a win from Serbia and packed Belgrades Arena. The hosts tied Bulgaria in the group for 3-1 record beating them 74:64. Novica Velickovic (205-F-86) led the winners with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Nenad Krstic (214-C-83) nailed 12, while Milos Teodosic (195-G-87) posted 11. Ibrahim Jaaber (188-G-84, college: Pennsylvania) ended up with 12 points in the losing effort, Stefan Georgiev (206-C/F-78, agency: Interperformances) and Deyan Ivanov (205-C/F-86) posted 10 apiece. Tepics three made the arena wild in the beginning of the game as Serbia took 3:0 advantage. Serbia was much better team from the beginning. Stoykov, Videnov and Ibrahim Jaaber struggled with aggressive defense buy Serbian guards which resulted with 38:26 for Serbia at the half time. The German Basketball Federation (DBB) has become the first in Europe to officially recognize the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate in its licensing system.
Coaches in Germany are required to obtain either an A or B license from the DBB in order to coach at the national level. A refresher clinic is required every two years for the A license and every three years for the B license.

'Several National Federations have already integrated the FECC into their coaching education. It shows us that we are heading in the right direction, and I am very happy that the DBB is the first National Federation to officially recognize the FECC in their coaching licensing system,' commented FIBA Europe Coaching Co-ordinator Michael Schwarz.
The FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate is a three year programme developed by FIBA Europe aimed at further educating coaches in the development of young talent. It allows participants to follow the progress of youth players across three age categories as they attend an Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 tournament in progression.
The first class graduated in the summer of 2009 at the U20 European Championship Men in Greece. The top four graduates were given the opportunity to coach at the Champion U18 All Star Game in Katowice, Poland, which took place on the same court where Spain would eventually win their first EuroBasket title in September.
The second FECC class began in Kaunas, Lithuania in August at the U16 European Championship Men. Those same students will be back in Lithuania (Vilnius this time) in the summer of 2010 to continue their studies at the U18 championships.

Division B Group A: Austria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Estonia Group B: Romania, Albania, Belarus, Sweden, Azerbaijan Group C: Slovak Republic, Cyprus, Switzerland, Czech Republic
The teams placed first in each group and the best second placed team from all of the groups will advance to the Promotion games. These teams will be ranked from 1st to 4th according to their record and will play 1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. The two winners of the Promotion games (home and away) will be promoted to Division A. The teams ranked 1st and 2nd will play the return game at home.

FIBA Europe has announced the seedings for the draws of the Eurobasket 2011 and EuroBasket Women 2011 Qualifying Rounds and the Youth European Championships 2010, which will take place in Freising, Germany on Saturday, 16th January.
According to FIBA Europe regulations the seeding method for the draw is based on the results of the most recent FIBA Europe official competitions, with the last tournament being the most important [read more]
FIBA Europe has announced the seedings for the draws of the Eurobasket 2011 and EuroBasket Women 2011 Qualifying Rounds and the Youth European Championships 2010, which will take place in Freising, Germany on Saturday, 16th January. According to FIBA Europe regulations the seeding method for the draw is based on the results of the most recent FIBA Europe official competitions, with the last tournament being the most important. A total of 285 teams in 20 FIBA Europe competitions will enter the draw, to be held at Freising's Marriott Hotel, near Munich and will commence at 2 p.m. local time. Division A.
Qualifying Round
The European participants in this year's FIBA World Championship in Turkey, qualify directly for the Final Round of EuroBasket 2011: Spain, Serbia, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, France, Turkey, Russia, Germany and EuroBasket 2011 hosts Lithuania (articles 30 and 31 of the FIBA Europe regulations).
Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Finland, F.Y.R.O.M, Georgia, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal and Ukraine will contest the EuroBasket 2011 Qualifying Round.
The 15 teams will be divided into three (3) groups of five (5) teams and will play home and away games. The teams placed first in each group and the two best second placed teams, will qualify for the Final Round of EuroBasket 2011 directly.
The 10 teams which do not qualify will play in the Additional Qualification/Relegation Round. The first six teams according to the ranking will play in two groups of three for one spot in the Final Round. The four last placed teams will play in one group for two Relegation spots in Division B.
The games of the Qualifying Round will be played on 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, 26th and 29th August 2010.
The Additional Qualifying/Relegation Round matches will be played in August 2011 (exact dates to be announced later). Division A Ranking/Seedings: (according to the results of EuroBasket 2009)
