EuroBasket 2013 Qualifying Round Draw Results - Dec 4, 2011

EuroBasket 2013 started with the Qualifying Round Draw in Freising, Germany tonight. 25 teams have been drawn into five groups with five teams in each. Two best teams from each group will advance into the Final Round of the tournament in France. Russia, Turkey, France, Czech Republic, Croatia and Great Britain have already sealed their EuroBasket 2013 appearances.

Group A: Israel, Belarus, Portugal, Ukraine, Hungary
Group B: Poland, Montenegro, Switzerland, Estonia, Serbia
Group C: Slovak Republic, Lithuania, Slovenia, Belgium, Netherlands
Group D: Germany, Spain, Sweden, Romania, Bulgaria
Group E: Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Finland, Italy.

Group A Latvia - Slovenia 77-66 Latvia edged Slovenia and claimed EuroBasket 2017 appearance. Six players scored in double digits as Latvia clinched the second position in Group A. Gunta Basko-Melnbarde (181-F-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) posted 13 points to lead the winners. Latvia used 39:24 run in the second and third quarters to clear off for good.
