Andrei Kirilenko (209-F-81) confirmed his decision to retire from international basketball. He made it public through the interview to one of the Russian websites. Andrei Kirilenko also confirmed he had informed the Russian basketball federation about the decision. The forward cited family and general fatigue as the main reasons that drew him to the move. So Fotis Katsikaris (agency: FCM ), the new head coach of Russian NT, will have to deal without its charismatic leader at the upcoming 2013 EuroBasket in Slovenia. Andrei Kirilenko joined the National Team back in 1999. He played at his first EuroBasket in 2001 at the age of 20. The forward was named All-European Championship MVP in 2007 leading Russia to the title. Kirilenko is currently playing for the Minnesita Timberwolves in the NBA. Last season he spent with CSKA and that was a phenomenal season for the forward. He was trumped All-Russian PBL Player of the Year, All-EuroLeague Player of the Year and All-VTB League Final Four MVP.

Kostas Missas announced as the new coach of the Greek NT - 2 days ago
The Greek basketball federation confirmed that the veteran coach will sit on the bench of the senior national team. Kostas Konstantinos Missas was born in 1953 and for years he has been the coach of Panathinaikos and a member of the coaching stuff of the Greek basketball federation. He is considered one of the best coaches in Europe on the junior level and many of the players he has coached in the junior national teams will be now member of the senior national team. Rudy Gobert will miss the upcoming Eurobasket in order to rest and work on his body and this is a huge blow for the French national team.
