Bojan
Bogdanovic
The Brooklyn Nets suffered a bit of a blow on Saturday as starter Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SF-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) suffered a concussion in the first game of Croatia's Eurobasket slate. He left the game after hitting his head and did not return. After the game, the team announced that he suffered a concussion and will not play in the team's next game against Greece. After that, Bogdanovic is day-to-day. Unlike the NBA, there is no "Concussion Rule" in FIBA play, so there isn't a predetermined amount of time that he has to miss. Seeing as Croatia has five games over the next six days, it's not certain that he'll return to play. However, it's also not certain that he won't play again in Eurobasket. Bogdanovic's coach said after the game that he wanted to return and play, which is either a good sign or just another look at his bulldog-type toughness. Either way, he didn't return and if you're the Nets you have to hope that he'll go easy. The team doctors are going to conduct additional tests, so we should know more shortly. Mario Hezonja (202-G/F-95, agency: Wasserman Media), the Magic rookie, filled in nicely for Bogdanovic and Croatia defeated Slovenia.
