Finland gained the second victory in Helsinki. The hosts outlasted Poland in double-overtime drama to improve at 2-1 record in Group A. Lauri Markkanen (213-PF-97) stepped up with another pivotal performance for Finland as he tallied 27 points and 9 boards.
Finland registered an 18:8 lead ten minutes into the game. Poland cut the deficit at 4-point mark at the big break 36:32. The visitors erased the deficit in the third term. They secured a 52:52 tie heading into the fourth frame. Poland surged ahead for a 66:57 lead with under two minutes remaining. But Finland bounced back with with a 9:0 rally in the dying seconds capped by dunk from Lauri Markkanen and forced overtime. The teams traded baskets throughout the first overtime. Lauri Markkanen wrapped it up with a jumper and sent the game into the second extra period. Lauri Markkanen added 6 points in the next overtime and carried Finland to a thrilling victory. Petteri Koponen (194-SG-88) netted 21 points, while Erik Murphy (208-F/C-90, college: Florida, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 12 points for the hosts. A.J. Slaughter (191-PG-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: BeoBasket) and Adam Waczynski (199-SF-89) replied with 18 points for Poland.

NBA guard Goran Dragic(190-PG-86) has confirmed he is retiring from the Slovenia team that won the European basketball championship.
