Guaros de Lara celebrated the FIBA Intercontinental Cup title. The Liga Americas defending champions overcame FIBA Europe Cup winners Fraport Skyliners in Frankfurt today. Zach Graham (198-G-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) was named the MVP. He finished with 19 points for the Venezuelan team.
Guaros de Lara posted a 19:16 lead after the first quarter. Fraport Skyliners picked up the tempo in the second term. They raced to a 39:32 halftime advantage. But Guaros stopped the rot after the big break. The Latin American powerhouse limited their opponents to just 13 points in the third term to get within a single point at the final intermission. Guaros triggered a 23:17 rally in the fourth period to snatch the victory. Damion James (201-F-87, college: Texas) accounted for 17 points, while Heissler Guillent (186-PG-86) added 10 points for the winners. Shavon Shields (201-G-94, college: Nebraska) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Fraport Skyliners. Quantez Robertson (188-G-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) had 12 points in the loss.

Oostende - Enisey 95-79 OT Oostende needed overtime to overcome the 12-point deficit from the opening leg and advance into semifinal stage. The game was mostly controlled by Oostende. Enisey was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet.
