Very important is a home loss of third ranked Portuguese Benfica (3-3) against fourth ranked Belgian Basic-Fit Brussels (1-5) on Wednesday night. Host Benfica was defeated by Basic-Fit Brussels in a tough game in Benfica 75-80. It looked good early as Benfica took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Basic-Fit Brussels took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Basic-Fit Brussels players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Benfica helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward Brandon Ubel (209-91, college: Nebraska, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Chalon - Alba 106-77

Second defeat of Hungarian Alba (4-2) against second ranked French Chalon/Saor (4-2) 106-77 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. The game without a history. Chalon/Saor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Alba's 42. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Alba's players. It was a good game for American swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Moustapha Fall (218-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Limburg United forced 19 Gravelines-Dunkerque turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. Belfius Mons-Hainaut was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
