Zimbabwean Power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-F/C-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Pau-Lacq-Orthez, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass BK Pardubice (#3, 0-1) with 35-point margin 101-66. It allowed Pau-Lacq-Orthez to take over top position in the FIBA Europe Cup group O. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Pau-Lacq-Orthez won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Chikoko turned to be Pau-Lacq-Orthez's top player in his first season with the team.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Andre Jones (191-G-90) of Prievidza. Jones had a very good evening with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Prievidza to edge Gravelines (0-1) 98-95. His team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won their first game. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Jones is a newcomer at Prievidza, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Justin Cobbs (191-G-91, agency: Pensack Sports) of Gravelines (#4). Cobbs scored 29 points and passed four assists. Despite Cobbs' great performance Gravelines lost 95-98 to Prievidza. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Cobbs has individually a great season in FIBA Europe Cup. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Axel Bouteille (201-G/F-95) of Chalon - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
5. John Roberson (180-PG-88) of Chalon - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists
6. Elie Okobo (191-PG-97) of Pau-Lacq-Orthez - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Cameron Clark (201-G/F-91) of Chalon - 22 points and 5 rebounds
8. Lance Jeter (191-PG-88) of Groningen - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
9. Richard Solomon (208-F-92) of Gravelines - 17 points and 16 rebounds
10. Jeff Adrien (201-F-86) of Bnei Hertzeliyya - 25 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
