Ken Horton
American Ken Horton (199-F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Telekom Bsk and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 24 points and eleven rebounds, while his team crushed, Second Stage bottom-ranked team Oberwart (#3, 0-2) with 19-point margin 83-64. It allowed Telekom Bsk to consolidate first place in the FIBA Europe Cup group M. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Telekom Bsk won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Horton had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Telekom Bsk's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old Croatian Drago Pasalic (208-C/F-84, agency: Court Side) of Groningen. Pasalic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Groningen cruised to a 94-82 relatively comfortable win over Benfica (0-2). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Pasalic is a newcomer at Groningen and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Davon Jefferson (204-F-86) of second-ranked Gaziantep. Jefferson scored 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Gaziantep, leading his team to a 90-76 easy win against Targu Mures in a game of the week. Gaziantep has a very good start of the Second Stage. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Jefferson also has a very good start of the Second Stage with very strong stats. Jefferson has a great season in FIBA Europe Cup. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Chase Fieler (203-F-92) of Groningen - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Osiris Eldridge (191-G-88) of Demir IBB - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Moustapha Fall (218-C-92) of Chalon - 13 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
7. James Farr (208-F-92) of Alba - 16 points and 14 rebounds
8. Aleksandar Rasic (195-PG-84) of UBT Cluj Napoca - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Gavin Ware (206-C/F-93) of Antwerp - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Frank Elegar (208-C-86) of Enisey - 14 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Oostende, Telekom Baskets and Nanterre join semifinal stage - 9 days ago
Oostende - Enisey 95-79 OT Oostende needed overtime to overcome the 12-point deficit from the opening leg and advance into semifinal stage. The game was mostly controlled by Oostende. Enisey was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Enisey used huge pressure winning it 18-19 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 7-...   [read more]
