ProB Final : Vichy goes up to ProA
*Vichy
had a pretty easy game vs Quimper this week-end in
Bercy. Because of the specific rules of this season,
Vichy was going all in on a single game, after
having secured the regular season 1st place. Quimper
finished the season at rank#3 and eliminated Limoges
(2-0) and St-Quentin (2-1) to win a ticket to Bercy.
If Vichy could have lost everything on this game, it
didn't really happened, since Vichy is the
uncontested leader of all ProB this season.
Vichy won this game 70-49, a game with a little
score exactly like one season before. Jimmal Ball
was the MVP of this game, as well as he was the MVP
of the season. Like a lot of team during the year,
Quimper struggled finding offensive solutions
against Vichy's defense.Quimper stayed stuck at
24pts at half-time, only scoring one point more
during the second half. On the other side, a couple
of treys by Ball created a little gap at half-time
(34-24). It was too hard for Quimper to come back in
this very defensive game.
Quimper had a good season, but could start a new
cycle, since coach Olivier Cousin announced he would
leave the team. Vichy will try to secure a place in
ProA, and could keep some of the players of the ProB
team. Zach Moss will be there next season, for
example.
Vichy managed to win this single ticket this season.
The big deal will now to stay in ProA, reduced to 16
teams.
