The Second Stage in Superleague just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, derby games and favorites losing the games.

Superleague round 1 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Feni Indistrija (14-3) against sixth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (8-9) 92-88 in overtime was the most important game of the last round. Kumanovo 2009 made 31-of-41 free shots (75.6 percent) during the game, while Feni Indistrija only scored thirteen points from the stripe. 31 personal fouls committed by Feni Indistrija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Dejan Mikic (201-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. International guard Aleksandar Kostoski (188-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. International swingman Marko Simonovski (194-89, agency: Interperformances) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds for Feni Indistrija. Feni Indistrija's coach Emil Rajkovic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumanovo 2009 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Kumanovo 2009 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Rabotnicki. Defending champion Feni Indistrija still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by MZT Skopje who have the same record. Feni Indistrija will play next round against Fersped-Rabotnicki trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kumanovo 2009 will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Lirija in Skopje.

The most impressive performance of 1st round was 23 points, 7 assists and 5 steals by Igor Mijajlovic of MZT Skopje.


Rabotnicki - MZT Skopje 69-88
No shocking result in a game when second ranked MZT Skopje (14-3) crushed on the road 5th ranked Fersped-Rabotnicki (8-9) 88-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 50-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for Serbian guard Igor Mijajlovic (193-84, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. International center Todor Gecevski (209-77, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Nemanja Jelesijevic (210-79, agency: World Sport Agency) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian power forward Milos Pavlovic (210-84, agency: BeoExcell) added 18 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Fersped-Rabotnicki. MZT Skopje have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Feni Indistrija. Fersped-Rabotnicki at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. MZT Skopje's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Torus Skopje.

Torus Skopje - Lirija 78-73
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Lirija's (10-7) road loss to third ranked Torus Skopje (12-5) 73-78 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Torus Skopje made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Dimitar Karadzovski (190-84, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). The former international power forward Bojan Trajkovski (206-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Vladimir Filipovic (195-85) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Balsa Radunovic (207-80) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Lirija. Four Lirija players scored in double figures. Torus Skopje maintains third place with 12-5 record having just two points less than leader MZT Skopje. Lirija at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. KK Feni Industries (Prva Liga) agreed terms with 20-year old FYR Macedonian international point guard Andrej Magdevski (192-96). He played last season at Partizan in Serbian KLS league. But in only one game he did not score anything and 1 assist. Magdevski also played 12 games in ABA League where he had just 2.1ppg, 1.0rpg and 1.0apg.
