There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of Prva Liga and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kumanovo 2009 (2-1) in Skopje on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Lirija (1-2) 78-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumanovo 2009. Strangely Kumanovo 2009 outrebounded Lirija 36-21 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Serbian center Toni Simic (210-76) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Dime Tasovski (200-80) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. International guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with 27 points for Kumanovo 2009. Kumanovo 2009's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lirija left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Kumanovo 2009 at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. Lirija is looking forward to face league's leader ABA Strumica on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kumanovo 2009 will play against the league's second-placed Feni Indistrija in Kavadarci and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 17 points and 20 rebounds by Dragan Kerkez of Vardar.

Vardar - Pelister Bitola 67-64

Everything could happen in Skopje at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Vardar and bottom-ranked Pelister Bitola had identical 0-2 record. This time Vardar used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Bitola 67-64 on Sunday night. Pelister Bitola was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of Vardar, which allowed them to win the game. Vardar outrebounded Pelister Bitola 46-21 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dragan Kerkez who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds. Darko Kostevski contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Vardar's coach Branko Andrievski used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Center Daniel Zaharievski (206-87) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Zoran Petkovski (188-78) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Pelister Bitola. Vardar (1-2) left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Pelister Bitola's third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. Vardar will face Kozuv (#4) in Gevgelija in the next round. Pelister Bitola will play at home against Fersped-Rabotnicki (#7) in Skopje and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Kozuv - ABA Strumica 77-79 OT

ABA Strumica escaped with a narrow overtime win over Kozuv. Bogoev stepped up with 21 points, 6 assists and 4 boards to lead Strumica to a thrilling overtime win. Jevdic added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Karadzovski responded with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Kozuv in the loss.

Feni Indistrija - Rabotnicki 85-80

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Fersped-Rabotnicki (1-2) lost to leader Feni Indistrija (3-0) in Kavadarci 80-85 on Saturday. Fersped-Rabotnicki was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 30-20 charge of Feni Indistrija, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward Bojan Trajkovski (206-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Darko Sokolov (190-86) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Kenyan-American forward Omondi Amoke (200-89, college: CS Fullerton) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nemanja Jelesijevic (210-79, agency: World Sport Agency) added 15 points in the effort for Fersped-Rabotnicki. Five Feni Indistrija and four Fersped-Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. Feni Indistrija have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with ABA Strumica. Loser Fersped-Rabotnicki dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Feni Indistrija will face Kumanovo 2009 (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fersped-Rabotnicki will play against Pelister Bitola.
