We bring you last week's top performances from FYR Macedonians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Bo McCalebb
Bo McCalebb
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Turkey). He led Fenerbahce Ulker to a victory over the league outsider Gaziantep (1-7) 86-69 in the Turkish TBL in Sunday night's game. McCalebb was MVP of the game. He scored 18 points and added 6 passes in 25 minutes on the court. Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul (7-1) is placed third in the TBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's McCalebb's first year with the team. McCalebb has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.0apg, 2FGP: 61.9%(13-21), 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 85.7% in the three games he played so far. McCalebb is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the FYR Macedonian senior national team. Strangely McCalebb has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Pero Antic
Pero Antic
#2. Second place goes to an international forward Pero Antic (210-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Greece). He contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Aris (2-6) crushing them 100-65 in the Greek A1 last Monday. Antic scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (8-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Antic's overall stats this year are: 6.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 56.3%(9-16), 3FGP: 22.7% and FT: 68.8%. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Bulgarian. Antic is in the roster of the FYR Macedonian senior national team.

Jeremiah Massey
Jeremiah Massey
#3. The FYR Macedonian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St., currently plays in EuroChallenge). He contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Ploiesti (0-5) crushing them 97-72 in the EuroChallenge on Wednesday night. Massey scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. Krasnie Krilya Samara (5-0) is placed first in group B. So far his team won all five games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Massey's overall stats are: 9.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 62.5%(10-16), 3FGP: 30.8% in the four games. He is a naturalized American. Massey played for the FYR Macedonian national team three years ago. Apparently he has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Vlado Ilievski
Vlado Ilievski
#4. Point guard Vlado Ilievski (190-80, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Krka (5-6) 97-78 in the Adriatic League in Sunday night's game. Ilievski scored 12 points. KK Cedevita Zagreb (7-4) is placed third in the Adriatic League. Ilievski's total stats this season are: 4.9ppg and 1.4apg. He is another player who holds two passports: FYR Macedonian and Slovenian. Ilievski is also FYR Macedonian national team player.

Vojdan Stojanovski
Vojdan Stojanovski
#5. International guard Vojdan Stojanovski (194-87, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague could not help BC Donetsk (7-8) in their last game. Despite his very good performance BC Donetsk was badly defeated 86-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) Azovmash. Stojanovski was the top scorer with 17 points in 29 minutes. It's Stojanovski's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 11.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg in the 10 games. Stojanovski plays currently for the FYR Macedonian national team.

Marques Green
Marques Green
#6. Point guard Marques Green (167-82, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vlado Ilievski. But that was another game of his team in Euroleague which we would like to mention. Green was not able to help Cedevita (2-7) in their game against Olympiacos (7-2). He scored 6 points and had 3 steals. The sixth-placed Cedevita was crushed 84-62 at home by the leading Olympiacos in the group C of Euroleague. Green belongs to league's most steals and is ranked #5. His total stats this season are: 5.6ppg, 1.7rpg, 3.7apg and 1.6spg. Green is a naturalized American. He is a former international player as he played for the FYR Macedonian senior team two years ago. Interesting that Green has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Predrag Samardziski
Predrag Samardziski
#7. International center Predrag Samardziski (215-86, another player represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to secure a victory for Lietuvos rytas (3-4) in their game against Khimky (6-1) in the VTB United League. He recorded 6 points in only 12 minutes. Lietuvos rytas (#6) lost 69-80 in Khimki to the leading Khimky in the group A of VTB United League. This year Samardziski's total stats are: 4.7ppg and 3.7rpg in the six games. He is also FYR Macedonian national team player.

Bojan Krstevski
Bojan Krstevski
#8. Power forward Bojan Krstevski (205-89, currently plays in Balkan League) managed to help Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas to win against one of league's weakest teams Kozuv (3-4) 87-77 in the Balkan League in Wednesday night's game. Krstevski recorded only 4 points. Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas (3-2) is placed eighth in the Balkan League. There are only three games left until the end of the Balkan League Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Krstevski has averaged so far 4.6ppg and 3.2rpg. He used to play for the FYR Macedonian U20 national team back in 2009.

The list of other players, who all have FYR Macedonian passport but never been selected to any of FYR Macedonian national teams:

#1. Jovan Zdravevski (197-F-80, currently plays in Iceland) led Stjarnan to a victory against the closely-ranked Skallagrimur 98-84 in the Icelandic Dominos League last Thursday. Zdravevski scored 12 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Stjarnan (6-3) is placed third in the Dominos League. Zdravevski is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Stjarnan's roster. He has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.1apg. Zdravevski has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Icelandic.

#2. Cedi Osman (195-SG-95, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to Pertevniyal's victory against one of league's weakest teams Baskent Genclik (2-8) 68-62 in the Turkish TB2L (second division) on Saturday night. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. Pertevniyal Istanbul (5-5) is placed 11th in the TB2L. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Osman has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in the 10 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: FYR Macedonian and Turkish. Despite Osman's FYR Macedonian nationality, he currently plays for the Turkish U18 national team and is not eligible to play for the FYR Macedonian team.

#3. Tomcho Sokolov (205-F/C-84, agency: Prossin Sports Management, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TB2L (second division) could not help Pi Koleji (3-7) to beat Gelisim (5-5). Sokolov recorded 5 points in 19 minutes. Pi Koleji lost 70-74 at home to the much higher-ranked (#9) Gelisim. It was Pi Koleji's fifth consecutive loss in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Sokolov has averaged so far 7.6ppg and 6.3rpg in the 10 games.

Prva Liga Round 3 (Second Stage): Ohrid AV loses to Vardar - 2 days ago
The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Ohrid AV (2-1) recorded a loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Vardar (1-2) 77-65. The game was mostly controlled by Vardar. Ohrid AV managed to win second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was A...   [read more]

Danilo

Danilo Mijatovic is back with MZT Skopje - 5 days ago
The saga that lasted nearly a month is finally over as defending champion KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom gets the permission to put Danilo Mijatovic (206-F/C-83) to their roster. The experienced Power Forward joined KK Kumanovo 2009 at the start of the season, from KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom, but despite being their best player averaging 18.9ppg and 5.8rpg in Prva Liga and 19.2ppg and 5.0rpg in BIBL the financial problems forced Kumanovo and Mijatovic to part ways. As said before, for Danilo Mijatov...   [read more]
