Union Olimpija posted a valuable road win over MZT Skopje tonight. Drazen Bubnic (206-F-86) stepped up with 20 points to lead the Slovenian powerhouse to the 11th win in the Adriatic League tournament. The visitors looked confident in the opening quarter. Union Olimpja recorded a 21:19 lead after ten minutes of action. MZT Skopje picked up the tempo in the second frame. The Macedonian side pulled ahead for a 42:36 halftime lead. But Union Olimpija unleashed 28 points in the third term to retain the lead. The visitors entered the fourth period up by two points 64:62. Bakic put MZT Skopje within three midway through the fourth period 71:74. But Union Olimpija capped the regulation on a 10:3 run to seal the victory. Jaka Blazic (196-G-90) and Alen Omic (215-C-92) finished with 16 points each for the winning side. Todor Gecevski (209-C-77, agency: Interperformances) notched 26 points for MZT Skopje. Kiril Nikolovski (210-F/C-88) had 17 points in defeat.
BC Mega Leks (KLS) added to their roster 31-year old FYR Macedonian ex-international center Predrag Samardziski (215-110kg-86, agency: BeoBasket). It is actually his comeback to Mega Leks as he has played here before. Samardziski played last season at Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket in Turkish BSL league. In 21 games he had 4.4ppg and 5.0rpg. As a reminder the African joined KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom in November on a monthly contract which was extended to the end of the season, however poor performances in the last few games has pushed the Macedonian side to seek for another playmaker for the last, key remaining games in ABA Liga where Ante Nazor (agency: XL Basketball Agency )'s crew will fight for survival.
The saga in the Macedonian side continues as Diabate is the fifth waived player this season and the list continues with two changes in the head coach position.

#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international point guard Marques Green (165-82, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Italy). Green led Scandone AV to a victory over the 13th-ranked Dolomiti En. TR (6-9) 79-69 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday.
He was MVP of the game. Green scored 14 points and added 4 assists.
Scandone Avellino (11-4) is placed third in the Serie A.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
This season Green averages: 8.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 4.3apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 49.2%(31-63) and FT: 94.1%(16-17).
He is a naturalized American.
Green played for the FYR Macedonian senior national team seven years ago.
Strangely he has never played in FYR Macedonia.
#2. Second place goes to former international point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Spain). McCalebb was the main contributor in a Gran Canaria's victory against the tenth-ranked RETAbet BB (6-8) 82-68 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Saturday night.
He was the best player in that game. McCalebb recorded 12 points, 6 assists and 3 steals in 20 minutes.
Herbalife Gran Canaria (10-6) is placed sixth in the Liga Endesa.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
It's McCalebb's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.9apg, 2FGP: 55.2%(58-105), 3FGP: 23.8% and FT: 81.3% in 16 games he played so far.
McCalebb is a naturalized American.
He played for the FYR Macedonian national team in 2015.
Apparently McCalebb has never played in FYR Macedonia.
#3. The FYR Macedonian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Romeo Travis (201-84, college: Akron, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He could not help Strasbourg IG (7-5) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Travis' very good performance the third-placed Strasbourg IG (7-5) was defeated 86-82 on the road by the lower-ranked Mega Leks (#6) in the group D of Basketball Champions League.
He was the second best scorer with 18 points.
There are only two games left until the end of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Travis' overall stats this season are: 9.1ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.8apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 46.7%, 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 77.8%.
He is a naturalized American.
Travis is also a member of the FYR Macedonian senior national team. Interesting that he has never played in FYR Macedonia.
#4. Point guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, currently plays in Romania) was not able to help Pitesti (9-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Pitesti was defeated 88-82 at home by the leading UBT Cluj Napoca.
Kostoski was the top scorer with 21 points. He also added 4 assists.
Kostoski has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.0apg.
Kostoski is also FYR Macedonian national team player.
#5. Former international power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, college: Alabama, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Bo McCalebb and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game.
Hendrix managed to help Herbalife Gran Canaria in a victory against the tenth-ranked RETAbet BB (6-8) 82-68.
He recorded 5 points in 8 minutes.
This year Hendrix's overall stats are: 7.5ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.3apg in 16 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Hendrix used to play for the FYR Macedonian national team

Stojanovski recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Betis Energia Plus Sevilla (7-8) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa.

#7. International center Marko Dujkovic (226-90, currently plays in Serbia) was not able to secure a victory for Metalac (4-8) in their game against Tamis (8-4) in the Serbian KLS.
Dujkovic scored 6 points and blocked 2 shots in 17 minutes.
Metalac lost 69-82 in Pancevo to the much higher-ranked (#5) Tamis.
It was Metalac's fourth consecutive loss in a row.

Pavic was the top player that evening. He scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes.
KK Mornar Basket Bar (6-11) is placed eighth in the ABA League.
This year Pavic has relatively solid stats: 10.1ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.6apg, 1.3bpg and 1.7spg in seven games.
#3.Dino Radoncic (202-F-99, currently plays in Spain). Radoncic could not help Real Madrid II (9-5) to beat Casvi (9-5).
He scored only 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists.

He scored only one point and added 5 passes in 21 minutes.
Baskets Akad.Weser-Ems/Oldenburger TB (10-4) is placed second in North group.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Musovic has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 2.1rpg and 2.4apg in 14 games.
He has both FYR Macedonian and German nationalities.
