Kumanovo 2009 (#4) forced the game against Feni Indistrija (#3) into an overtime, but lost by two points 91-93 on Saturday night. Bojan Trajkovski orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Feni Indistrija have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lirija. Kumanovo 2009 lost third consecutive game. Kumanovo 2009 at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Feni Indistrija will face ABA Strumica (#5) on the road in the next round. Kumanovo 2009 will play against Fersped-Rabotnicki in Skopje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Lirija - ABA Strumica 88-82

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Lirija (8-3) beat 5th ranked ABA Strumica (5-6) in Skopje 88-82 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-82. Lirija made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Lirija outrebounded ABA Strumica 42-20 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Dime Tasovski (200-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin power forward Balsa Radunovic (207-80, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Toni Grncarov (190-80) answered with 19 points and Serbian power forward Filip Pajevic (200-84) added 15 points in the effort for ABA Strumica. Five Lirija and four ABA Strumica players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lirija have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-3 record behind leader Kozuv, which they share with Feni Indistrija. ABA Strumica lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Lirija's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Skopje to the arena Vardar.

Very expected game when 7th ranked Vardar (2-9) was smashed by first ranked Kozuv (9-2) in Gevgelija 82-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kozuv. Vardar was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Vardar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian swingman Miladin Pekovic (197-83, agency: BeoExcell) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points. Center Kiril Pavlovski (210-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with 7 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Kozuv players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (198-89) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian point guard Vladimir Gajovic (182-87) added 18 points in the effort for Vardar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kozuv have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-2 record. Loser Vardar keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Kozuv will face bottom-ranked Pelister Bitola (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vardar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Lirija.

Rabotnicki - Pelister Bitola 108-59

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Fersped-Rabotnicki (5-6) rolled over bottom-ranked Pelister Bitola (1-10) in Skopje 108-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fersped-Rabotnicki. Pelister Bitola was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fersped-Rabotnicki dominated on the defensive end, holding Pelister Bitola to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pelister Bitola's 30. Fersped-Rabotnicki forced 19 Pelister Bitola turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fersped-Rabotnicki especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pelister Bitola's players. American-Somalian forward Mohammed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. American point guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Fersped-Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. Serbian center Aleksandar Kalanj (208-86) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian point guard Nikola Vukasovic (192-91) added 11 points in the effort for Pelister Bitola. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fersped-Rabotnicki moved-up to fifth place, which they share with ABA Strumica. Loser Pelister Bitola stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Fersped-Rabotnicki will face higher ranked Kumanovo 2009 (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pelister Bitola will play against the league's leader Kozuv (#1) in Gevgelija.

MZT Skopje - Buducnost 96:90 MZT Skopje injected some life in their Adriatic League season. The FYR Macedonia powerhouse outgunned Buducnost just for the fourth win on the season. Former international Forward Dime Tasovski (200-F-80) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Rabotnicki, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4. The 36-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, four rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Kozuv (#6, 1-3) 81-80.
