Here is the weekly review of the top performing FYR Macedonian players, who play currently abroad.

Bo McCalebb
Bo McCalebb
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Turkey. He could not help Fenerbahce Ulker (2-6) in their last game. Despite McCalebb's very good performance the seventh-placed Fenerbahce Ulker was crushed 99-60 on the road by the leading Regal FC Barcelona in the group F of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. McCalebb also added made 4 passes and 3 steals in 36 minutes on the court. It's McCalebb's first season with the team. McCalebb is currently third on the list of most steals with 1.7spg. He also averaged so far 13.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 56.4%(75-133), 3FGP: 26.8% and FT: 78.4% in the 17 games he played so far. McCalebb is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the FYR Macedonian senior national team. Strangely McCalebb has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Pero Antic
Pero Antic
#2. Second place goes to an international forward Pero Antic (210-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Greek team Olympiacos to a victory against the closely-ranked Khimky (4-3) 87-82 in the Euroleague on Friday night. Antic recorded 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 27 minutes. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (4-3) is placed third in group F. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Antic averages: 5.8ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 44.7%, 3FGP: 25.9% and FT: 87.0% in the 17 games. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Bulgarian. Antic is in the roster of the FYR Macedonian senior national team.

Jeremiah Massey
Jeremiah Massey
#3. The FYR Macedonian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St., currently plays in Germany). He contributed to a Brose Baskets Bamberg's victory against the 11th-ranked TBB Trier (10-12) 96-84 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game. Massey scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Brose Baskets Bamberg (20-2) is placed first in the BBL. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. Massey has relatively good stats this season: 12.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.7apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 56.0%(14-25), 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 75.0%. He is a naturalized American. Massey played for the FYR Macedonian national team four years ago. Apparently he has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Vojdan Stojanovski
Vojdan Stojanovski
#4. Guard Vojdan Stojanovski (194-87, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Ukraine was not able to help BC Donetsk (5-9) in their last game. Despite Stojanovski's very good performance BC Donetsk (#7) lost in an overtime 90-96 in Astana to the higher-ranked (#5) BC Astana in the group A of VTB United League. He scored 17 points in 33 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Stojanovski's overall stats are: 9.9ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in the 14 games. He is also FYR Macedonian national team player.

Predrag Samardziski
Predrag Samardziski
#5. International center Predrag Samardziski (215-86, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup) was not able to secure a victory for Zvezda (2-4) in their game against Galatasaray (3-3) in the Eurocup. Samardziski scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Zvezda (#4) was edged 85-84 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked Galatasaray (#3) in the group L of Eurocup. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Samardziski's total stats this season are: 4.0ppg and 4.3rpg. He plays currently for the FYR Macedonian national team.

Marques Green
Marques Green
#6. Point guard Marques Green (167-82, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in Italy) managed to help EA7 Emporio Armani Milano in a victory against the closely-ranked Lottomatica Roma (12-7) 79-66 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Green recorded only 3 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 20 minutes. EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (12-7) is placed fifth in the SerieA. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Green's total stats are: 7.7ppg, 2.7rpg and 5.0apg in the six games. He is a naturalized American. Green is a former international player as he played for the FYR Macedonian senior team three years ago. Interesting that he has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Stojan Gjuroski
Stojan Gjuroski
#7. International forward Stojan Gjuroski (203-91, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Louisiana Tech win their game against the Central Baptist College (4-13) crushing them 118-48 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Gjuroski scored 11 points in a mere 15 minutes. The Louisiana Tech University has quite an impressive 14-0 conference record this season. So far Louisiana Tech won all fourteen games in the conference. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Gjuroski has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg in the 16 games. He is also FYR Macedonian national team player.

Uros Vasiljevic
Uros Vasiljevic
#8. Forward Uros Vasiljevic (201-88, college: Kenyon, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 couldn't help KK Dubrovnik (1-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance KK Dubrovnik was edged 75-72 in Darda by the higher-ranked (#5) Vrijednosnice OS. Vasiljevic scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in only a mere 9 minutes. It was KK Dubrovnik's tenth consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Vasiljevic has averaged so far 6.0ppg and 1.3rpg in the three games. He used to play for the FYR Macedonian U18 national team back in 2005.

The list of other players, who all have FYR Macedonian passport but never been selected to any of FYR Macedonian national teams:

#1. Kennedy Winston (198-F/G-84, college: Alabama, currently plays in EuroChallenge) led his French team Gravelines-Dunkerque to a 1-point victory over the closely-ranked Paris-Levallois (3-2) 87-86 in the EuroChallenge last Tuesday. He was MVP of the game. Winston scored 25 points. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group J. BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral (4-1) is placed first. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Top 16. And that game will be critical. This season Winston averages: 8.8ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2apg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Winston has never played in FYR Macedonia.

#2. Experienced Jovan Zdravevski (197-F-80, currently plays in Iceland) was the major contributor in Stjarnan's victory against the league outsider IR (4-13) 100-88 in the Icelandic Dominos League last Thursday. Zdravevski recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. Stjarnan (5-1) is placed second in the Dominos League. Zdravevski is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Stjarnan's roster. This season Zdravevski has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg. He has a dual citizenship: FYR Macedonian and Icelandic.

#3. Michael Wilkinson (204-F-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Wisconsin, currently plays in Eurocup) managed to help Unics Kazan to win against the closely-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (3-3) 79-77 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game. Wilkinson scored only 4 points. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group L. Unics Kazan (4-2) is placed first. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Wilkinson has averaged so far 8.0ppg and 2.5rpg. He is a naturalized American. However Wilkinson has never played in FYR Macedonia.

Danilo Mijatovic is back with MZT Skopje - 5 days ago
The saga that lasted nearly a month is finally over as defending champion KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom gets the permission to put Danilo Mijatovic (206-F/C-83) to their roster. The experienced Power Forward joined KK Kumanovo 2009 at the start of the season, from KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom, but despite being their best player averaging 18.9ppg and 5.8rpg in Prva Liga and 19.2ppg and 5.0rpg in BIBL the financial problems forced Kumanovo and Mijatovic to part ways. As said before, for Danilo Mijatov...   [read more]
