The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Skopje: Krosig Skopje (#3) and Vard.Mladinec (#5). Krosig Skopje (7-2) crushed visiting Vard.Mladinec (3-6) by 39 points 77-38. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vard.Mladinec. The game without a history. Krosig Skopje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vard.Mladinec to just 6 points in second quarter. Krosig Skopje held Vard.Mladinec to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Vard.Mladinec 48-21 including a 37-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Krosig Skopje made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Elena Radenkovic (186-84, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who scored 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Serbian guard Kristina Semeredi (185-77) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Krosig Skopje's coach Zoran Balov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Ana Paunova (-97) who recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds. Krosig Skopje moved-up to second place, which they share with Klubski. Vard.Mladinec at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Pelister. Krosig Skopje is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vajs-Profil (#8) in Kavadarci in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vard.Mladinec will play at home against Struga 2009 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Skopje: Vigor Skopje (#1) and Badel (#4). Vigor Skopje (9-0) won against visiting Badel (5-4) 69-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Badel. It was a good game for the former international guard Slavica Dimovska (175-85) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 4 steals. Aleksandra Stojanovska contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Andzelika Mitrasinovik (175-93) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds for Badel. Undefeated Vigor Skopje have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Badel at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Vigor Skopje will play against league's second-placed Klubski in Delchevo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Badel will play at home against Pelister in Bitola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Vajs-Profil (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 55-22 loss to seventh ranked Pelister (3-6) in Bitola on Saturday evening. Pelister moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vard.Mladinec. Vajs-Profil lost their ninth game in a row. They still closes the standings with nine games lost. Pelister will meet higher ranked Badel (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vajs-Profil will play against Krosig Skopje (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Struga supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Klubski (7-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Struga 2009 (2-7). Klubski smashed Struga 2009 62-35. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Klubski. They maintain second place with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Vigor Skopje, which they share with Krosig Skopje. Struga 2009 lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Klubski's next round opponent will be league's leader Vigor Skopje at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Struga 2009 will play against Vard.Mladinec (#6) in Skopje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
