The domination of the eternal Skopje rivals KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom and KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje in the Macedonian Cup will finally be ended as Macedonia will name a new crown standing on top of Cup competition following the defeats of the two biggest clubs in the country in the semifinals.

KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje - Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje 78-92

The first game of the semifinals went fully by its expectations. Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje managed to control the game from start to finish to make it one step away from the first club trophy.
The strong start from Dragan Nikolic 's men followed by the wonderful performance by Dominik Mavra (195-G-94) gave Sokoli a double digit lead by the seventh minute of the game (18-8). KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje started playing better in the defense and managed to cut the difference by five points, but their bad percentage from the free throw line and the fair numbers of turnovers had a main role in the first quarter (25-18). KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje managed to cut the difference by only three points (33-30) in the second quarter with two three pointers by Petar Nikolic (G-93) and Viktor Efremovski (191-SF-98), but on the other side of the court Bojan Trajkovski (208-F/C-88, agency: Mansfield and Associates) and Dragan Labovic (207-F/C-87, agency: Alti Sport) answered with their series to give Sokoli even a bigger lead of 12 points (42-30). By the end of the first half both teams exchanged baskets, but did not make an impact on the scoreboard. At the half time buzzer the score was set at 48-37.
However, the most interesting period of the game was jet to follow. Both sides came out of the locker room with "snipers" in their hands and there we had it. The great shooting challenge was "called out" by Bojan Trajkovski with two triples in a row. Dime Tasovski answered even better, the experienced Forward scored 12 points from four triples for a 12-2 series, but then another guy stepped on the court. Dominik Mavra continued his excellent performance and sinked down two triples to neutralize the score. At the end of the exciting shooting performance Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje was the team that managed to grab an eleven point lead (73-61) at the end of the third quarter. The last 10 minutes were only a formality. Sokoli played much better and filled their margin for a new final, two years in a row.
Dominik Mavra was the first name in the game. The Croatian international led Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje with 27 points, 8 assists and 3 steals, while Bojan Trajkovski added 17 points and 7 rebounds. For the loosing side, Dime Tasovski scored 23 points and 4 rebounds and assists, and both Petar Nikolic and Nenad Misanovic (217-C-84) added 12 points. The Serbian center was one rebound away from a double-double performance.

KK Feni Industries - KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom 80-79

The thriller in Kavardarci noone expected, not as KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom had a 4 point lead with 26 seconds to follow.
The game started as many expected. KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom dominated in the rebound section (10-1) in the opening minutes and by managing to keep KK Feni Industries on 3 points for 6 and a half minutes the side from Skopje already had a double digit lead (13-3). The things turned around quickly as Devon Van Oostrum (190-G-93, agency: Octagon Europe) injured his leg in a bad landing after a scored basket. This here was a turning point in the game. With Charlon Kloof (190-G-90, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) injured, KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom did not have a playmaker to organize their attack and the ball did not circle easily as it did. Feni Industries got back in the game on the wings of the shooting performance by Boban Stajic (185-PG-93), but KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom was the team that had the better score after 10 minutes of play (22-16). The second period started with a 10-2 series by the home team to give KK Feni Industries a 25-24 lead and after several minutes of hard play in both sides of the field on the scene stepped Kiril Nikolovski (210-F/C-88) who scored two three pointers to give Feni a 6 point lead (39-33). Ljupcho Malinkov 's men continued with their excellent performance and kept their lead till the end of the first half (42-38).
At the start of the second half it was all KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom on both sides of the field. On the wings of Djordje Drenovac (201-G/F-92) and Josh Scott (208-F-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) the side from Skopje managed to turn the result in their favor, but did not use the bad period of the game for the Kavadarci side. KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom won the third quarter with 25-17 and grabbed a 63-59 point lead before the final quarter. KK Feni Industries straightened their defense once again and kept KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom with only 2 scored points in four minutes, only to make 9-2 streak and grab the lead again (68-65). KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom managed to even the score at 71-71. Feni answered with a 4-0 series, but KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom did even better. A series of 8-0 put KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom on 4 points lead (79-75) with 26 seconds left on the clock. Matija Ceskovic (192-G-81) scored a three point shot from the inbound and in an interesting situation Jure Lalic (211-C-86) made a foul in the position battle so the ball was again for KK Feni Industries. Giorgi Sharabidze (210-C-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored underneath the basket and gave Feni a 80-79 lead, Djordje Drenovac missed the last shoot of the game, Josh Scott touched the ball underneath the basket, but did not manage to put it trough and KK Feni Industries won the game.
The former players of KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom had their blessing moments in the opposition jersey as Kiril Nikolovski and Boban Stajic led KK Feni Industries with 22 points and 6 rebounds, and 16 points and 4 assists.
Jure Lalic was the first name on the team sheet for KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom with 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Djordje Drenovac added 16 points and 8 rebounds.

In the trophy game Karpos Sokoli 2000 Skopje will fight KK Feni Industries today at 19:00.

Danilo Mijatovic is back with MZT Skopje - 4 days ago
The saga that lasted nearly a month is finally over as defending champion KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom gets the permission to put Danilo Mijatovic (206-F/C-83) to their roster. The experienced Power Forward joined KK Kumanovo 2009 at the start of the season, from KK MZT Skopje Aerodrom, but despite being their best player averaging 18.9ppg and 5.8rpg in Prva Liga and 19.2ppg and 5.0rpg in BIBL the financial problems forced Kumanovo and Mijatovic to part ways. As said before, for Danilo Mijatov...   [read more]
