Prva Liga top team - Rabotnicki (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Pelister Bitola (4-9) 95-60. The game was mostly controlled by Rabotnicki. Pelister Bitola managed to win fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pelister Bitola 45-28 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rabotnicki looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Pelister Bitola's players. The former international Andrej Maslinko (206-97, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and naturalized Bulgarian center Kiril Pavlovski (210-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side Serbian forward Milos Andrejevic (198-89) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rabotnicki maintains first place with 11-2 record, which they share with Feni Industries. Pelister Bitola lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Rabotnicki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pelister Bitola will play at home against the league's second-placed Feni Industries (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Bottom-ranked Vardar (0-13) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to third ranked Kumanovo (9-3) 86-69. American-Nigerian guard Deji Ibitayo (193-93, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 17 points and 4 steals for Vardar in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumanovo have a solid series of three victories in a row.
