They narrowly defeated Finland today to step closer to the next stage of the tournament. Yannick Desiron (204-C-92) tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds to pace the winners. Both teams are tied at 2-1 record in Group E. The teams exchanged baskets throughout the opening frame. The scoreboard read 16:16 at the first break. Yannick Desiron and Lasisi helped Belgium to a 28:22 lead at halftime. Arne Steinbach (182-G-92) opened a double-digit lead for Belgium midway through the third term 34:24. However Heinikoski drained two triples to ignite a 9:0 run from Finland as they narrowed the margin at one point 33:34. Markus Molenius tipped off the fourth quarter with three free throws to pull Finland in front 36:34. Kilian Cato (201-F/C-92) and Kopio gave the Finnish team a 46:41 advantage with just over a minute to go 46:41. However Arne Steinbach fired two triples in the dying seconds to ensure a 49:49 tie at the end of regulation. Heinikoski and Osku Heinonen (194-F/G-92) converted four free throws to put Finland in front at the start of the overtime. But Yannick Desiron, Goetgeluck and Arne Steinbach replied with 6 points in a row as Belgium snatched a narrow victory at the end. Arne Steinbach top-scored with 19 points for Belgium. Brett Hartshorne (201-C-92) added 7 points in the victory. Kilian Cato replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds for Finland. Osku Heinonen finished with 12 points in the loss.

But Mirza Bulic (204-F-92) notched 8 points late in the quarter to give Bosnia and Herzegovina a 16:12 lead at the first break. Finland exploded with six three-pointers in the second frame to pull in front. They established a 39:34 halftime advantage. Markus Molenius fired 10 points in the third quarter to keep Finland ahead. They posted a 50:42 lead into the fourth stanza. Vasilic and Mirza Bulic dragged Bosnia and Herzegovina within just two points early in the final quarter. However Kilian Cato (201-F/C-92), Villematti Kopio (182-G-92) and Osku Heinonen (194-F/G-92) accounted for timely buckets and iced the win for Finland. Molenius drained a three-pointer at the start of the second quarter to boost the lead. Finland stayed in charge throughout the period and posted a 35:23 advantage at halftime. Czech Republic began the second half with eight consecutive points to narrow the deficit. Finland did not allow their opponents to get too close as they finished the third frame up by 6 points 43:37. Svejda revived the intrigue as he poured in a three-pointer at the start of the fourth quarter. The Czech team narrowed the gap to a single point midway through the fourth quarter but Finland stayed calm. Osku Heinonen (194-F/G-92) and Villematti Kopio (182-G-92) organized a 12:3 run that propelled the team to a comfortable 10-point lead they never surrendered. Villematti Kopio nailed 18 points, issued 6 assists and grabbed 5 boards to lead Finland. Osku Heinonen and Kilian Cato (201-F/C-92) added 17 points each for the winners. Michal Sotnar (190-G-92) responded with 14 points for Czech Republic. Jaromir Bohacik (198-F-92) netted 10 points in the loss.
