Bojan
Sarcevic
Bojan Sarcevic is a 23 year old 190cm guard from Bosnia Herzegovina that is playing in Finland for UU-Korihait Uusikaupunki. He just ended the season with the team losing in the semi finals toPyrinto. Thiss eason he averaged 12,5ppg, 3,9rpg and 3,5apg. He spoke to eurobasket about the last season and the future.

You are from Bosnia & Herzegovina, but have played in Finland since 2006. Why did you play here?

Correct. I decided to come to Finland because I saw a good opportunity to start my professional career. I think I didnt make ??a mistake coming to Finland.

How has your game developed in the Finish liga since you have been here?

Arrival in Finland I've matured as a man first, and thus it was reflected in my game, and I am now much more experienced player with a higher dose of confidence and security.

You reached the semi finals but lost 3-0 to Pyrinto. What was key in this series for not being able to advance to the final?

Correctly, such a relationship is primarily a result of fatigue, because we are in the regular season played 44 matches and then we play offs had tough matches with Espoon Honka which is one of the best clubs in the league. Results on the influence and minor injuries of players.

How happy were you with your season?

I'm quite pleased and I think this was one of the best season for Korihait. As for my personal success, I achieved the goal outlined in the early season. It remains the only regret for unconquered medal.

What things do you still need to work on on your game?

I think that I can still improve in all aspects of basketball games, especially the defense, shot and physical upgrading

What is a strength in your game that doesnt always get noticed?

Wow, a very difficult question and I think that this question can not adequately respond.

What has been the most importnat thing that you have learned from coach Tom Westerholm?

I learned that faith in yourself and your teammates key to achieving success and in this way creates a good atmosphere in the club and the players enjoy the game.

How does your future look like? Will you stay in Finland or look to play somewhere else?

I will stay in Finland, provided that a change of club. The next two seasons will play in Espoon Honka, and I think it is a step forward in my professional career. It was not easy to make that decision because I spent five memorable years in Korihait. All people from the club and the supporters I am very grateful for all they have done for me and easier for me staying in an unfamiliar and new environment.
In considering the bids of other teams along with the agent I decided to continue career in Honka for the opportunity to play in the VTB League against the best European teams such as CSKA, Khimky ...

What dreams do you still have as a basketball pro? You are only 22 and still have a long time ahead of you.

My dream I partially filled, so I became prefesionalni basketball player, and will be completely fulfilled if I played in some of the best league in Europe.

What was your most crazy shot that you ever took and made?

Hmmm, many of them, but unfortunately I can not single out any particular.

What were the most free throws that you made in a row?

My personal best is 163 hit free throws in a row, which happened during training.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Unstoppable with Denzel Washington, excellent movie.

Helsinki Seagulls - Kataja Basket 67-84 Kataja Basket rallied past Helsinki Seagulls to take 3-1 lead. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Jarekious Bradley (196-90, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7...   [read more]

Kataja Basket - Helsinki Seagulls 105-80 Kataja Basket cruised past Helsinki Seagulls to take 2-1 lead. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. Helsinki Seagulls managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
